Here is my honest review of the Nomura Kanji 2.4m 40-80 gram fishing rod. I have been using this rod in as many scenarios as possible and have found it to be a brilliant rod. As I explain in the videos is matches well to a 4000-6000 sized reel, it casts well and has a very responsive bend when under load.

hi John I am so glad you have reviewed the Kanji, I bought the 2.7m 70g just over a month ago, now I’ve never owned a spinning rod before but I was so impressed with the feel and action of this rod I was feeling very good about my purchase and now having watched your review singing the praises of your Kanji I am now over the moon with my purchase as I respect your opinion and honesty. Long may you continue with the varied content and the excellent way you present your videos.

My surf-fishing rod is white, and that's what I said when I got it; "Why is it white?" Once I started using it, the color really didn't matter anymore...as long as there's fish on the other end! Thanks for another great video!!

Nice rod John, anyway having seen your review on your PFD, I bought one, and yesterday I used it for the first time, on a boat fishing trip out of Rhyl, it was brilliant, I didn't know I had it on, so it'll be worn when ever I'm on a boat or the rocks, so thank you 😊

Hello John. I appreciate your reviews (and all your videos) and was in the market for a new lure rod so invested - first trip out on the north Cornish coast rocks the ‘unbreakable’ rod broke (600mm from tip). Quite bizarre as it was under very little pressure. Awaiting replacement from supplier who believes it must have been damaged in transit to me. Keep up the good work from someone that’s fished the Cornish shore for nearly 50 years.

Whilst watching your videos John I have been impressed with that rod. Just checked the prices on line and honestly they are way better than I expected, I'm tempted. Great to have a long term review from you, which I feel I can trust. Now you just need to put a video together with some tips on how to convince my good lady that I need another fishing rod. ;) All the best to you and the family matey.

I recently purchased a 60 to 80 gram 7 foot rod which I use for light to medium boat fishing and Jerk baiting for pike. First time out I had a nice smooth hound and a small tope along with long pollock and cod etc. Great fun, so light and sensitive. I have a trigger grip on mine so I use it with a small baitcasting reel.

Nice review John, the rods got a good bend on it mate. It makes a change to see a white rod considering most of the older rods are black, brown, dark green etc. I think the only downside would be the cleaning haha. Take care mate, be safe.👍👍🎣🎣🎣

I have one of these and an 8’ 20g to 40g shakespeare ugly gx2 which is also a fantasic rod for the same sort of money. Between them they cover all my bases from rocks, light beach, boat, pier etc for all species from small mackerel to decent cod, bass ling ect. All for little more than £ 100 the pair. Matched hose with a pair of Catana rough ground for winter beach fishing and everything is covered for less than £300 for 4 great rods

I have just snapped a 1 month old Ugly Stik 12-20, snagged the bottom, put the rod down to grab my line stick, picked the rod back up by the top section, having forgotten to flcik the clutch open, drifting boat tightens into rod and ping it lets go. Anyway here I am again, this time replacing a tip action Ugly Stik with a different beast all together, the bend in the Nomura goes down to the butt. Good looking rod.

What's the length from the reel seat to the butt end? Just wonder if it's any good for kayak fishing with it being in the ideal 7ft range? In the seated position, I wonder if the butt be too long to either dig into you, or just be too unwieldy around the kayak?

What's the best thing to look for when it comes to sea rods and how mucth would u spend to get something farely decant I domt wanna spend loads I was thinking off maybe like 70 to 80 I'm after a nice light weight sea rod easy to cast with a farely sensitive tip and also a bass rod for spinning ome thing I'm trying to find out is If u have a sensitive tip would that make the tip move all over the place in the wind as it would be nice to have a sensitive tip but something that dont blow all over the place in the wind

7:16 At that point, is where you'd expect the rod to snap! Looks like an excellent rod with a wide mix of power when you need it and flex/sensitivity for sure at the very tip. It would be an interesting study of what angle to hold the rod at different forces on the rod, or if it makes a difference at all in how well the rod works.
