The Tokyo Rig has burst onto the scene in the bass fishing world this year and it is a rig that is built to get big bass out of the thickest cover. Inspired by Japanese design this new power flipping technique provides the option to fish a variety of cover and grass with a truly unique presentation. Easily change out weight size by unsnapping the wire keeper which makes the Tokyo Rig an option in so many different situations. BassinBill hits the lake with the Tokyo Rig and shows you how to rig it up and even make your own DIY Tokyo Rig if you don't have one pre-made.

The Tokyo might keep the bait weedless, but if there is any veg on the bottom the crimp/weight will catch it. By time you get the rig back to you you'll have a full salad.

Nice video. Been learning the tokyo rig the last couple of months, but I got sidetracked with my Ned rigs on my BFS setup. Either way love the design and action of the tokyo rig. Going to try and alternate between them this upcoming weekend.

I feel like people lose a lot of fish on braid and they think it’s because they didn’t set the hook hard enough when in reality it’s just that braid is so stern and so sensitive that people either set the hook too early because they can feel the bite so well leading to a hook that is not in a good location possibly stabbed into something it could rip through instead of being stabbed into something it can hold onto or the fish gets off closer to the end of the retrieve because there’s no stretch and when they pop their head with a sudden jerk that action snaps the line taught and they can generate enough force to get loose whether they break the line, bend/break the hook or even rip the hook out but one way or another they will do something with the force you have allowed them to utilize because if your line has stretch that they can generate force all they want but will not able to put it to use because the line would just stretch along with their movements. At the very, very least use a leader it don’t have to be fluoro You can go braid to mono, but use a leader.
