Okuda Manabu is one of Japan's best trophy hunters where he chases giant bass with giant swimbaits. He works with Shimano but he also owns his own company called Signal where he makes a wide variety of different size swimbaits. Today, Phoenix and I get out on beautiful Lake Biwa and have a nice day picking Okuda's brain on fishing Lake Biwa.

Man, how cool was that? Damn. I’ve watched every single one of your videos I’ve learned so much from you. I’m a much better big bait fisherman because of you as I’m sure many are. I see your travels, the way people respect you and your opinion. I think it’s so cool that your get invited onto Okudasans boat on Lake Biwa and the trips you take to manufacturers and Icast with Ben. Idk I guess I just want to give respect to what you’ve built and earned for yourself in the tiny world of big bait men. Ya, so RESPECT bro. Thanks for all the nuggets of knowledge you drop. We appreciate it!

There are some other factors contributing to the decline of bass there unfortunately, most of which aren't discussed publicly. It also does not help that there are no fish management programs in place for sustainable fishing in the country. However, the fish that are in that lake are extremely healthy and shaped like footballs for the most part. It's also a stunningly gorgeous body of water as well.

1-4 oz is a pretty hard range, most rods are normally 1-3oz or 2-6oz, you’ll most likely be looking at a MH or H rod. Dobyns, F5, IRod, LDC make rods in that 200-400 price point
