Here's your first hands-on look at the new Fitbit Versa Lite smartwatch. I do a complete unboxing, then compare it against the existing Versa, plus I detail all the tech specs. After which we head out for a run to test it against the Apple Watch and Garmin Forerunner 935 watch, for both optical heart rate and GPS accuracy.

It was a great presentation, I think just a little slower speaking. On the whole a great way to learn about a new gift, I received from my son! I am 79 years old and very active! this will be a great way to track all my activities. Thank you!

Hey thanks!! I just got this for Christmas and I'm not tech savy at all. My step-mom laughed when I didn't know that my phone could connect to Bluetooth. But she said that this thing can get text messages and that I can answer them? How. I found, on the app, how to make pre-done text messages back to a text but my texts aren't showing up on the watch, only on my phone. Can you answer? Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Just bought the Versa Lite, my HR sensors do not light up. Are they supposed to? I've looked for the advertisement commercials and photos and it doesn't look like they are lit up either. I'm wondering if I received a faulty product. I'm also having difficulties getting any notifications from my iPhone to the device.

I have the verse lite aswell but I cant see the map even though my Gps is on and it doesnt show the hole run result, as in it doesnt show the full km/miles I ran or the full time I ran for.If you could tell ny why that would be great

The regular Versa typically goes on sale for about $160 so I expect this one to be about $120 with sales witch would make it a no brainer.

Yes, fitbit tracks sleep by tracking both your movement and heart-rate.

I'm having issues updating, it doesn't get past 1% (I see the red X on the watch) I use a Samsung phone. Do I have to plug the watch to power to update, even though the battery has been fully charged?

Do u need a chest strap with the Garmin ? Does the chest strap give u the data for the computer to show u the increase and decrease heart rate? Thanks Will

He had a garmin HRM dual on hist chest. The garmin 935 was connected to that.

You can't wear more than one heart rate monitor per wrist or they start interfering with each other. The Garmin can track heart rate without the chest strap but he already had watches on both wrists so the chest strap was required to make sure everything was accurate.

Hello ! Thank you for the video, it was really well done ! I am interested in buying a fitbit versa watch but can't decide between the normal one or the lite edition :) i honestly don't care about the music et nfc difference, but i am about the altitude thing. But, as i intend to use my watch with Strava, i was wondering if the altitude was then going to be included via my phone (if i choose the connected gps for my run , if i got this right) ? I don't know if i'm explaining clearly as english isn't my first language ;) Anyways, thank you for the video, and it would be great if you could give me an answer :D Have a nice day!

Yeah, it's interesting. I think business wise it's a brilliant product. It basically recognizes that the Versa sold extremely well at the $150-$160 price point on sales the last 3-4 months, and that they could sell a similiar product well at that price too. Given that nobody else actually competes in that price bucket (mainstream anyways), it's surprisingly smart for the company that often seems to miss the trends.

@@majorskies7091 Yeah, I agree there. I think one of the things they're finding (along with Garmin) is that if you're not the phone manufacturer, it's really hard to do LTE-connected wearables well. The catches are too great. For example on Garmin's VA3 LTE, it's useless for texting as an iOS user. You can't share iMessage onto it, so you have to have a second secret number that everyone knows (or disable it).

Wolf Hawk yes you can control music from your watch just hold the left button when playing music and you can turn up and down the music or change songs :)

hello fellow amazfit bip user! after experiencing 30 days of battery life after a charge, I cannot accept a 4 day battery life. My sleep monitoring and HR info is very accurate because it is worth 30 days of data.

Umm, that's no difference. Not using the term 'waterproof is merely legal jargon avoidance. Water resistance is safer for organizations, but it's also a cop-out. There are zero standards around the usage of either term at any level.

I’m afraid for the color... had an orange ionic and, one month in, its color had faded. Messaged Fitbit. They replied it’s normal wear-and-tear... after one freaking month!!!

My peach Versa color faded quickly too. I didn't mind the lighter faded peach, but I swapped to gray when it died and I exchanged it. Then my gray Versa died and I exchanged it for a Mulberry Versa Lite two days ago.

On sale, true. Though, most of the year it's not on sale. And I suspect going forward when we see other Fitbit sales, the Versa Lite will drop further.
