Love the video, nice little tractor still working hard. A blast of the powerwasher before they arrived might have made things more pleasant for them though :)

Always a joy to work on equipment with layers of cow poop caked onto things. I kind of feel bad for the repair guys but they came with full body gear. LOL. I probably would have offered to power wash the area first, but that's just me being fussy about clean work areas. HAHAHA. I know, you're definitely used to it and it's par for the course. The guys certainly did make swift time with the repair assuming not too much was jump cut from the time line. I've seen so many different tire repairs for heavy equipment, it amazes me really that there are so many different types of rings, clips, and binders for the various brands. It's good to have an experienced and knowledgeable resource for this bigger stuff. It really turned out to be an easier fix WITH the right tools.This is definitely an example of where the right tools make a world of difference from an easier job to a major pain in the butt. Just finished scanning the other comments. I can see there has been quite a vocal crowd in here with opinions to boot! Yikes. No criticisms here, that's for sure. It's a hard job and you make it look enjoyable at least. Good job on the video, Richard. tyre = tire. :-p sorry, I type on the other side of the keyboard (not from the UK). HAHAHAHA

Tractor was covered in shit to the point that it was falling into the new tyre. And then they parked it in the shit and watched him work, while filming him. I'd be pissed off too.

I know it's a scraper tractor but wouldn't it be an idea to give the tractor a quick blast with a pressure every once in a while

It peals off the paint so if you keep doing it it will rust and reduce iys life span by about 5-10 years

I've work on and visited a number of farms in my time and a scraper tractor is never clean, it would be a total waste of time to power wash as come the next morning or afternoon it will be splashed again. The tire crew are quick and efficient, a good job.

Richard, Always enjoy the repair videos. Any reason why you can't make one long video instead of two short ones? The rim looks like it is about to fall apart as well. If that was me changing that tyre I would have been pressure washing that tractor down before starting the repair. That cow manure gets into everything & certainly causes a lot or corrosion.
@thefunkyfarmer
@thefunkyfarmer 9 жыл бұрын
born2flyaufair comment but some people prefer short videos and it gives me a chance to upload one video while i'm working on the other part.If i pressure washed the tractor half the paint would come off it i'm afraid. Its just the scraper tractor so apart from keeping it in good mechanical order i leave the muck on as it would get covered again the next day. I give it a clean once a year

I saw one MF 135 (built by EBRO) with 12.000 hours with the original engine. It's cheap to overhaul the engine because you have great spare parts sellers for your old English tractors! You are so lucky!

Carlos_cmp yes you are right, its very easy to get spares for old tractors here. Where are you?

thefunkyfarmer I'm from Spain. Here is really difficult to get spare parts for our old tractors. Thanks to Fordson that introduced the Fordson New Major under the Brand EBRO we can have spare parts from UK to our tractors.

thefunkyfarmer thats fair enough! i was just asking as with scraper tractors.. wear and tear is much more rapid than other machines as you probably well know, a friend of mine bought a brand new set for his and blew a tyre out the next week. personally i always buy used sets for 20 pounds or so, our scrape never goes off road so having tyres with a good tread doesnt really matter. they last us a good fair while too.. each to their own i suppose, if that works for you then fair enough! i do enjoy watching your videos and find it interesting to see how life on your farm varies from mine!

@@thefunkyfarmer the scraper get covered in shit the 135 i use had no can and no roll bars. But it doesn't get washed. Only the front and the seat but that it and it just a rise with a hose for like 5 mins. As there no point in cleaning the tractor. As it a wast of time. Muck get everywhere. So the no point. Like what funky farmer said.
