In this brief video, I show you how I fitted and wired up Eyourlife LED lightbars to the DIR Offroad roof rack on my 2019 Suzuki Jimny with particular attention to cable runs and electrics. We also demonstrate the effectiveness of the lights in a real world situation at night.

super cool! i want to install a led bar on my suzuki vitara jlx too. in Italy you must cover the lights with a case while you're driving on public roads

Thanks. Gosh, that seems a little extreme - needing to be covered up! Stay safe. N

Mate. Just order a Toyota Prado 150 2010 model switch. They are a perfect fit . You can even get them in amber. They dim and everything if you wire them correctly. I get mine here in Australia at a place called QLED, but I'm sure you can find them on eBay or similar.

In ireland they have to be wired through the high beams which is a bit self defeating since most good light bars make head lights look like candles.
@highergroundlifestyle
@highergroundlifestyle 4 жыл бұрын
In the UK they legally have to be wired to a separate switch and you're not allowed to use them "on road".
@timexironman100m
@timexironman100m 4 жыл бұрын
@@highergroundlifestyle yes mine are wired via relay and separate switch however for road legalities which makes it all a joke since their not legal for on road use is they have to also wired through hi beams for nct or mot here across the water..a small inconvenience..did not know how to tape into wiring loom so bought a loom and headlight adaptor from a company in australia yeah i know excessive but could not get anyone here to do it for me.. but the loom will take up to 2x500 watt light bars so its under used at moment can't think of company name if it comes to me will let you know.

Hi, did you have to remove any of the dash around the spare buttons? I am struggling to remove one of the spare buttons to do the same fitting as you. Thank you 😊

Hi, no. I managed to pass the cables into the cabin and pull them through the button hole in the dashboard. No major parts removal!

Looks amazing! Does the roof rack and the LED bar add a noticable amount of windnoise while driving? Cheers

AnTrAxX Slingshots, initially I certainly noticed slight additional noise at around 55mph but I am now oblivious to it. It is a great looking rack and, in my opinion, the only one that adds to the appearance of the Jimny!

Hi thanks for the video. How do you pass the wire inside the cabin? Do you have to cut something or just fitted on? Appreciate your answer
@highergroundlifestyle
@highergroundlifestyle 3 жыл бұрын
As shown in the video, the cable is run down the gap between the windscreen and surround before being passed through the space just behind the bonnet hinge. NO new holes, drilling or cutting required!

Hi, how have you mounted the relay inside the engine bay? Looks glued and not using an existing bolt? Looking at installing 2 spotlights at the front and a light bar on the roof connected to the one relay.

Rob, in all honesty I haven’t made the adjustments yet. The day job has got in the way. A few degrees up will defo make a difference though. Then to test with some overnight off-reading!Have also asked DIR if there’s a matching compatible bar to fill the gap in the middle... Cheers. N

Andy aka Rudolf Hessiansack - Thanks! I know that DIR are currently updating the shop on their website to include all of the products they sell. I believe that the LED lights cost me €90. I think they look great and have just enquired if DIR are able to provide an additional light to fill the space in the middle that is intended for a number plate. Best Wishes. N

Leave the small switch on it. I have my 180w light bar fiited on the blank switch next to front fog lights on 2007 version their very easy to accidentally switch on with your hand or fist as you turn your wheel or urn signals etc now i know why suzuki left that switch blank...i now have same switch fitted to the 180 bar re located down at knee level in an alcove of plastic body panels have never had problem since.

Dude light bars make huge difference with a camera the effects are often lost. Please note up loader says leds need to be adjusted they do but trust him and me in real tome light bars depending on their confirmations make huge difference. I use a combo of flood lights and spot on my 2007 jimny 2x 75 watts on bull bar fog lamp height. 1x 120 watt bar on bumper at grill height and 1x180 watt on my roof total watts 440 watts and and a modest 21500 lumens of light with a cold ice white 5000k and cool 4000k from the 2x75 watt units.their great with the full beams as their more spot than flood... do i need it ? Of course not but it looks cool :) the 2x75 watt and 1x 120 watt bars run through high beam circuit and the roof 180w bar is wired like up loaders and all run off the standard 45 amp 12v factory fitted battery and stock 75 amp alternator...since light bars are not street legal i use mine off road and on road only on those dark country lanes for a short time but wow i can see front and sides field of lighted view is 180 degrees..the 120 has a multiple function on it sos. Strobe..flash etc etc...while i went off on a tangent a bit.. they make a huge difference..the only thing to be careful is when you turn them off the low beams seem light side lights and the high beams if i use the 180 watt can look like candles ha ha. .
