Here are five tips on using OneNote and Outlook together. Microsoft OneNote and Outlook work great together. In fact, the improvements that Microsoft has brought to the entire Office lineup are fantastic for productivity, with tighter integration across the board, mostly backed by OneDrive and their cloud infrastructure.
In this video, I will show you five ways in which OneNote, Outlook, and Excel play well together to add convenience, speed up your workflow, sync data, and transfer documents between them.

Hey great video, just wanted to point out that when you import the meeting information into Onenote (the example you used) that you can click on the boxes next to the names/emails to show who attended the meeting. A feature I like!

Great video, thank you. when I moved a file from outlook to one note, it was asking me if I wanted to send all outlook files to a specific folder. I agreed but now I want to send specific outlook files to different OneNote folder again. Ho can I reset this so that when I click the OneNote button in outlook, it asks me again where in OneNote it wants to send it to? Thank you

Chris, very helpful. Question. I would like to be able to collapse emails that I send to a Onenote page. I cannot figure out how to indent the email so I can collapse the text and only see the subject line. Is that possible?

Hi! Thank you a lot! Do you know the method for connection of different activities with exact dates together with calendar? If to change week number in one place, then it should be changed in all other documents (OneNote, Excel etc.) Like trick with Flags but visible in Calendar for week, month...

helloo, i was wondering if you colud help me know hoy to set a page size. The option does not appear on the view tab and the little dots on the right wher you could click configuration dont either.(I use this program on a macbook air and dont know if that is an issue)

does anyone know why having a To Do Tag checkbox in One Note, and emailing this page to Outlook, my formatting gets all messed up, and the To Do Tag checkbox is not visible in the Outlook email?

Do you find that Onenote to outlook tasks can be slow to load at times?

For these to work, is it necessary for both OneNote and Outlook to be open at the same time, or does it work even if they're closed?

That is a great question. I just tested to be certain, but you do NOT need both to be open. If you add a task in OneNote, and Outlook is not open, it will be in Outlook Task when you open Outlook. If you insert a meeting in OneNote, Outlook does not need to be open, and if you have OneNote closed and send emails from Outlook to OneNote, OneNote will automatically open.

At work our tech Team told us that embedding files into Onenote increases the chances that onenote will become corrupted. What are your thoughts on this?

I've not heard of this issue before. I embed videos and excel files all the time in OneNote. Just to make sure I wasn't missing something, I searched for _onenote embedding files causes corruption_ and did get a few hits but nothing to indicate this is true.

There is a feature here that is driving me nuts because sometimes it seems to work and other times it does not. How do you get Onenote to tell you who accepted or declined a meeting invite in outlook? Some of my onenote meetings pages, it will show next to the participants name (accepted in outlook) or whatever and sometimes that data does not show. How do I get Onenote to always show who has accepted or declined a meeting in outlook in the Onenote participant list?

Logan, if you still need this answered. This can drive you crazy. You need to type the text/message in ON first. Once you have the text typed, highlight the text then right click or right click on the text box where your text is located (which will highlight the text) and click on the "task" button. If you create the task and then type the text you'll get this message in Outlook [Click the OneNote link in task body for details]. Be advised THIS DOES NOT WORK ON OFFICE 365. MS has refused to add this option into ON 365 even after countless complaints.

@@hulenbryant5637 Thanks for the reply, I'll test this out today but I think I got it figured out. When you associate a onenote page with a outlook meeting it seems to poll the tracking data once. Through some testing, and annoying my co-workers with meeting invites all day, I think do get the text to show in onenote participant list you must be the meeting organizer, and you must not associate the onenote page with the meeting until AFTER everyone has responded to the meeting invite. FOr some reason if you prestage a onenote page with a meeting invite one note will not add the tracking data to the participant list as they respond to the invite.
