Halfway through Week Five and we have your Five Minute Histories episode bright and early. Today, we focus on two sites at the Old Town Mall!
This is our series called "Five Minute Histories." Each day, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and website. We are honoring Governor Hogan’s request and are doing this from home.

I loved shopping and eating in the old Town mall

I remember going Shopping with my Mom at the Belair Market during the 50's. A lot of the vendor had family that waited on my Great Grandparent at the same places in the market. I also remember there was a public bath house to the side of the market. As most Baltimoreans still lived in cold maintained

Growing up we were told that they are the reason why we won the battle.Ross had all the plans in his head and no one else knew them.

The Sheppard Pratt Hospital once had its' own fire fighting equipment and had a fire tower much like the one at Oldtown. The tower was used after a fire to hang the hoses to let them dry out. If they were coiled up while still damp inside the natural cloth fibers that made up the hoses would have mold set in and they'd rot.
