Vanessa was actually trying to save him the whole time, when she threw his pills it was an attempt to stop him from going into the dream space and communicating with the kids. Also, that would have indirectly helped to keep Abby safe aswell because she KNEW they wanted Abby.

I believe that some critics complained that the movie had "too much plot" which is just one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard lol.

So in the game lore, its very confusing but one thing has always remained consistent in every version of the story, the killer is always William Afton

Fans of the franchise know for ABSOLUTE FACT that there is NO WAY William Afton died. Multiple times through the games, William has faced impossible odds. He was inside a suit during a springlock failure, he's been in multiple buildings on fire with no means of escape, he's even been attacked by an animatronic DURING FIRE NUMBER 3 and like he says in the movie before putting the mask back on, he always comes back. His supernatural survival capabilities even carry on in the family, his son literally being emptied of most of his vital organs and surviving, walking around as some kind of rotting, decaying zombie.

The director and the actors said several times they were making the movie for the fans of the game and lore they said they knew the critics weren't gonna like it and that it was specifically for the fans that's why it got an 88 for fans on rotten tomatoes and the creator of the game was directly involved in the movie and they got alot of info from matpat on set. Matthew Lillard is the purple guy he is wearing a purple tie and he signed up for a 3 movie deal

There were two credit things you guys didn't catch. The first was a mid credits scene where the cab driver (another KZfaqr btw) gets jumpscared by Balloon Boy. The second is a little weirder: a robotic voice begins saying letters one at a time, which spells out "Come find me" which is a game reference and a sequel tease.

The syncronized "Hoooo!" between Chris and Damrin at 22:39 was funny.

Fun fact: the reason why the movie has such a low rating on the critics side is that some of them are literally self proclaimed haters of Fnaf and if you go read the critics done by them, you will see how many of them are just none sense or literally trying to make the franchise's charm looks like a bad thing.

Guys, a few small corrections: ☝🏻🤓 1- Purple guy is william afton, he was called that way long ago because people didn't know his name and scott represented him with the color purple. 2- William said: "I always come back" for 2 reasons, 1- because it's the most iconic line of william in the games (fanservice xD) And 2- because he knows that he will come back possessing springbonnie (the yellow rabbit suit) just like the children did with the animatronics. 3- The animatronic that went to look for Abby at her house is Golden Freddy, you can see several differences with regular Freddy, such as the broken ear, the black eyes with a blue pupil and of course it's golden color. 4- Vannesa was just trying to protect Mike, she was just acting weird because she was terrified of her father. 5- The story of this movie is different from the story of the games, it's a separate universe so to speak... The only things similar to the games are the characters, William killing the children and finally dying in springbonnie. 6- Garret didn't end up inside an animatronic, William simply killed him for unknown reasons. And I recommend you not reading the comments, there are many people putting incorrect information such as, "foxy runs because the kid possessing foxy died running away from William" which is totally fake, besides there are a lot of children insulting you, yeah i'm not proud to belong to this fandom.. :/

3:38, lol. Why'd you show those pictures? They have nothing to do with shows and movie ripping off FNaF. Those are Fan-Games, which are a big part of the whole FNaF community and most of which are officially recognized and approved by Scott, the creator of FNaF, some of which are even a part of a whole thing where Scott basically pays the creators of some Fan-Games to make them.

This movie has been hyped for nearly 8 years, so it would have been shocking if it didn't do well. Here's some Backstory: Scott Cawthon (the creator of FNAF) got a movie deal for the franchise in 2015 under Warner Bros. It got delayed a LOT (clearly) due to Scott not being happy with the scripts they were making, as well as different changes (i.e the rights switched to Blumhouse and the directors changed like 3 times). However, I'm glad it is finally out now. Though, it might be one of Scott's last major products ever, since he is now semi-retired due to a scandal (he still will always have the final say on things though). Basically, he got exposed for being a Republican & Trump supporter a few years ago which naturally angered lots of people. It got so bad that people threatened his family, so he decided to semi-retire and gave the rights to Steel Wool Studios (an indie game company that has worked with Scott since the VR game FNAF: Help Wanted), though Scott will still get the final say on Steel Wool's ideas, despite no longer being directly involved.

This movie gets huge bonus points from me for both building actual animatronics and setting up an actual restaurant.

Personally, I think FNAF: Security Breach was my favorite FNAF game, which is pretty different from the first FNAF game. Also, I really like Springtrap as a villian. Just the concept of a ghost of a child serial killer possessing the animatronic that contains his own rotting corpse is really scary. I recommend the fan animation by Jaze Cinema of Springtrap because it is REALLY well done and terrifying!

The reason this movie only got 30%? Cuz critics don't know what an audience likes, the same thing happened to the mario movie and so many others. 87% on the audience score at the time of checking this

8-8.3 outta 10 for me personally. Good acting all around, Matthew Lillard was my favorite performance. If you know some of the ) gonna already know the "twist" villain, but thats entirely fine. Animatronics and their effects looked great. Story was a little generic in my opinion, but serviceable. Should've been rated R ( but I get they wanted to reach a larger audience) loved the cameos (my favorite was Coryxkenshin). Overall was a very good campy adaptation that was fairly entertaining.

My biggest criticism is that William Afton had no mention prior to Vanessa revealing who the man was. Her saying he was her father was more of a gasping moment than the William Afton reveal. I’m not sure how they would’ve mentioned him. Maybe like- Mike researching on kids going missing in the 80s at Freddy’s pizzeria and getting information on william and Henry or suspicious stuff in william SOMETHING at least. My mom and my grandma saw the movie with my friends and I and it was just like watching another movie and ofc a lot being predictable for someone who doesn’t really know anything. My grandma didn’t even get jumpscared at all (I was a BB and foxy jump scare victim). So, just like many others Vanessa bringing up William meant nothing to her verses fnaf kids and fans of any age knowing who tf William Afton is. But yeah

Fun fact: the security guard in the opening sequence WAS supposed to be played by MARKIPLIER. He was one of the biggest reasons why FNAF became popular, along with MatPat the “Game Theorist” (who cameoed as the waiter), but he couldn’t appear because he was filming a movie of his own.

@TheNormies Pat did well he said this is his level of scary. I think him and Rana or whoever else have not seen the Scream franchise should do those movies. I think they would help Pat get over his fear of jump scares. Because the movies are so sooo fun and campy. Plus Pat seems to enjoy trying to piece together the mystery of who the bad guy(s) is/are. Also it’s the only horror franchise that has kept that same quality for the most part every single movie. 3 is the only one that sort of dropped the ball but it is still fun as hell.

The suit Michael Afton wears was one of the original animatronics that was named Spring Bonnie. The old suits were also designed to hold people but with the locking mechanisms that were used at the time the spring locks would drive straight into the flesh, treat your vocal chords, and pop your eyes out and replace them with the animatronic eyes.

Great reaction, had a nice group for this one. Rana is always fun to watch, Damarin with some FNAF knowledge, Pat not liking the horror and Chris just enjoying a good movie (and recognising MatPat). Just a few pointers. You probably missed it but the movie does give you an exact date with year for when it is set. Early 2000 was a good guess as it is the year 2000. The editor made a bit of a boo boo, as I believe Damarin meant the movies that rip off the concept of the FNAF game. The three images at 3:38 are fan made games that Scott (the creator of FNAF) actually does not mind. Suggested movie rip offs include Willy's Wonderland, Freddy's Fridays, and The Banana Splits. Freddy (Bear), Bonnie (Rabbit), Chica (Chicken, not a duck, why does everyone think she's a duck, lol) and Foxy (Fox). Limited range to roam free this refers to back when they were JUST animatronics. Golden Freddy is special, but in case this is explained in a sequel, I won't go into detail. Otherwise, enjoyed all the guesses and glad you enjoyed it too.

This movie is pretty much exactly what the FNAF fandom wanted, so I put up with a lot of the cheese for that express purpose. And you think this movie's lore is simple? That's because it is. This movie is basically the bread and butter of FNAF lore, everything after this get complicated and convoluted in a HURRY. The movie lore is clearly not following the game lore explicitly, but it is using the primary elements from it in a remixed format. The lore of the games is so complicated that no one has been able to determine a complete and fully confirmed timeline of this series in the near 10 years since this franchise has been out. But yeah I'd say the only things I can't accept in this movie are: Vanessa just straight saying she'd shoot Mike. That line is problematic not just in universe, but is really just a badly written line. And William's "I always come back" line is significant to the lore as he has several lore instances of supposedly dying and then inexplicably coming back, and because the movie hadn't touched on his story basically AT ALL, I really think they jumped the gun on that line and should have saved it for the sequel. Oh the Cory cameo is (along side the dope Matpat cameo) is great, but I just think the Freddy getting into the car scene is really dumb. But decent movie and I'm happy the FNAF fandom finally got this movie after an 8 year wait.
