you don't need that much, as long as you have 250k to 350k in cash, and earn at least 40k plus is fine. It not like you are going to pay the car off, get the car, drive it for a year or two then get something else. You don't need millions of money to enjoy nice things. You just deploy a small amount of income to have some fun. Remember you are going to get this money back ( a good percentage) when you move it.

@Bob, FYI its actually still 2 zone climate control. The back temp inherits the passenger front temp (kinda stinks). Seats are vegan sy (ironically from plastics/oil) synthetic, not leather.

its worth it for the convenience, the fact that it can retain its value and you can re sell it, and not having to sit in a strangers car every single day. Ik pretty sure a car like this will sell for $25,000+ in 5 years.

This is not meant for the average person, it's a luxury product for premium prices. Also, this is their first gen, low volume high price vehicle. The next-gen vehicle will have a higher volume and lower price.

Great quick bullet points! Escalade is the King when it comes to maximum dimensions. This makes the apples 'n oranges comparison between the two even more difficult. I just took a quick look at interior dimensions and the Escalade gives 6" to 10" more shoulder room, and a bunch more cargo space. Just looking at the "behind 3rd row" spec, the R1S is 17 and the Escalade is 25, and the Escalde XL is 40. Very significant. I wonder if the 2025 Escalade IQ and IQL dimensions will match the gas powered version. The 2025 IQ is supposed to start delivering at summer end of 2024 and pricing $99K-$130K.

If I could afford a $98K car, absolutely I would buy a R1S. Although I cannot afford a R1S, the forthcoming R2 I will sign up for provided they can keep it between $40K-$60K. That is within reach, and since it won't be hear until 2026, I am already saving toward that purchase.

Generally, management cares less about the quality than the people building the trucks. Most chassis frames go through a litany of repairs before being used. Prepare for rust.

1 reason NOT TO BUY.. I USED TO BUILD THESE. And my team on the 2nd shift was absolutely ass. A bunch of 21-24 year olds ripping carts at their stations( me too). Working 11-12 hours 6 days a week with 15 minute breaks (it’d take 7 minutes just to get outside from our stations and 7 minutes back so not much of a break)
