Great video! It's nice to see the use of blueprints to really bridge the gap between beginner automation tutorials and the super-complicated yaml automation tutorials.

In all honesty I use blueprints when I can. Just makes things easier. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Very informative and well-edited video (even though it's clearly a sponsored video, at least it's for a great product line). Thanks very much.

Thank you! Yep they offered to sponsor and provided most of the gear. Everything else was up to me. It was fun to make!

Thanks for sharing. I've been wanting to find a simple option for the HVAC disable for my Aqara sensor. Looking forward to seeing more content

That is one of those deceptively simple automations. It all seems pretty easy except for returning the HVAC to the original state. That blueprint author did a good job of integrating that in.

@@ThisSmartHouse Absolutely they did. The previous ones I had tried didn't work as intended. I deft would like to look into doing our bathroom next. Kids always leave the lights on in there 🤣

Does the humidity blueprint you are using still work? I've tried to use this one, using the same sensors and a typical GE/Jasco Zwave fan switch (relay) and it's not working for me. I'm wondering if its still working or if you've found a newer solution?

Is there a way to poll state with certain interval frequency, so that it check certain state or value of an entity repeatedly (according to the interval that has been set) hope I'm making sense. Node red can do this as you're probably aware, can't find this on HA.

Please post the blueprint link. The one I found triggers by % changes in humidity and I want to set the actual humidity on-off numbers.

Just started using the aqara door sensors they've been solid. I ended up swapping the magnet for a tiny powerful earth magnet giving more space between sensor.

That's a good idea. I love how small they are. The only door sensor I like better are the monoprice hidden ones. If you drill a small hole in a door you can drop them in and don't even see them.

I have a tuya based contact sensor. I have the local key, id and the ip address for it, I am not able to add it to local tuya in homeassistant. Please guide how can I add it via .yaml configuration to local tuya. Kindly guide.

Nice video. I noticed you have a pretty big screen which makes the text small on the video and with a lot of white space. Could you zoom in a bit more when showing home assistant?
@ThisSmartHouse

Noted. It tried to zoom in on the relevant stuff. Which part did I miss? All of the code and links are in the blog post for ease of use.

At 3:11 for example. There is some nice zooming here and there, but generally speaking, most windows can be zoomed in better.

what device can verbally "welcome" me home when my cell phone connects to my WiFi?

The easiest would be something like Text to Speech on a Google Home or Alexa (I think you can do this with Sonos). You can also get a device that does announcements and load a custom mp3 file on it (my old Xaiomi Aqara Hub supports this). But I think TTS via an Assistant or Echo is the easiest.
