You make several thoughtful points. I do take issue with the discussion around Scenario #2 where the progressive tax structure is applied to a withdrawal. I suggest that it's misleading to suggest that the Roth withdrawals are taxless -- they ARE taxed, but the tax has already been paid and is not reflected in the illustration. A fair illustration would include the value of taxes already paid. Expanding upon this point: if taxes (rates, brackets, deductions, etc) are identical both now and upon withdrawal, then there's zero difference between paying those taxes immediately (Roth) or paying them later (traditional). Of course, the other good points you raise (flexibility, tax diversification,..) remain true. Great video.
