Now let’s talk a little about what to do for deep hip rotator tightness.
For learning purposes, we’ll need to dive in a bit more to pelvic tilt, glute clenching, and working internal and external rotation for those deep hip rotators. Please join me in this video for Part 2.
On Friday, we’ll go through a bit of practical application with a fun Form Friday exercise, and then follow it up with more exercises next week.

Unfortunately I have back spasms several times a year which creates a really deep ache in my glutes. So you tell us what exercises not to do like clams, bands on knees, etc but what exercises should one do to help these deep hip rotators let go?? Did I miss that?

please continue w/ this series and show how to work on this. I've been working w / PT for my deep R sided glute pain and hip flexors that would not allow me to extend my leg . I have better movement now w/ my hip flexors but continue w/ buttock pain.

Hi I have a quick question so I have Hip impingement and when I sit I think I have a butt wink or posterior tilt. All the information I am getting is telling me I need to work on external rotation. But you're saying that if I have a posterior tilt I need more internal rotation????

Sarah your content is great I have very tight hip rotators, my left psoas seems long and weak in the morning and causes my left foot to drop and clunking in my left hip and rotation, am I right to stretch the hip rotators strengthen the core and psoas and then strengthen the glutes and adductors and rotate them in exercises such as the 90/90 shin box ?

Hi, I saw my physio and I have deep hip rotator tightness and butt-clenching - He still gave me crab walks cause 'glutes cure everything' apparently - @ 3:28, what would you suggest to 're-establish the other pattern of motion'? Adductors and hip hinge and then focus on glutes/ER's after? Thanks - I'm so confused that so many clinicians have given me stuff that makes me worse!

this video and the tight quad hip video is exactly what i am going through, i have no thoracic spine rotation or internal hip rotation, and walk like a duck. The PTs in my area and strength and conditioning coaches cant figure it out, and it is exactly what you are saying on the deep hip rotators, on your website, do you all teach how to establish the connection for them to let go? i wish i could consult with you

When I did clams my problem got worse! Overpronation and it starting showing up more on my left foot after that too. What do I need to do for a neutral pelvis? What exercises should I do then?

Depending on the compensations you have to deal with that weak core that could be a possibility. I would have to see you move to be positive about the cause.

I wish i could have a consultation with you.. 😔... What you said makes a lot of sense to me.. I have this feeling of tightness in the right side of my body especially in my leg, glute.. i also have tighteness in my uper right side of the body for example in the arm, no even closer to what i have in the leg but still, that confuses me.. Could this mean that the problem is not in the hip? I do have a dysmetria of my iliac, and my right leg is slightly shorter... Its been years and a ton of specialist here in my country and no improvement..

This is exactly my issue. Obturator and piriformis are the issue. Also anterior pelvic tilt! I have been trying to strengthen glutes and core bc I also have lower back pain. How would I’ve also been releasing. And doing things like clams and glute exercises as well... anything else you would recommend ?
