Awesome fixed it Had to replace starter because it burned after it got stuck and the lady got panicked when smoke was all over the engine compartment thank you a whole lot saved my day cause couldn't find replacement for this switch anywhere in this country although I did not remove the key cilinder

I had to confess that you saved me from removing the transmission , I misdiagnosed it as a cracked flywheel. AWSOME

My 07 Kia Rio with about 160K miles keeps wanting to start. There are some differences but not may The push pin in near the top and to release the back one needs to turn the key to start. Also connections pins in the back were dirty so I cleaned them with bar keepers friend. Then added more dielectric grease. Keep ya posted on the outcome.

The white part is an ignition switch. I had a vehicle that would keep running after the key was turned off. Replacing the ignition switch fixed it.

just wondering why you couldn't have just tool the back part off without pulling the lock cylinder? And what type of grease are you using?

I have a 15 kia optima lx. Some idiot tried stealing it messed up where they key goes in. My original key doesnt go in anymore and guessing they left it on acc I think since its broken. Can I still turn on the car while just turning the ignition switch. I know I did it in my old Maxima but since its a newer car I don't want to go through all this process just to find out it doesnt work.

Nice, after going through a couple starters burning up on our daughters car, I realized something else must be causing this. Great instructions, but our '09 had a steel plate that had to be removed under the first bottom dash cover. 4ea(1 nut, 3 screws) 10mm to remove it to access the back of the switch.

My 08 kia starts up when key is in on position . Then the starter stays on untill i put it in drive . Ill try this out and let ya know if it works

Hi I have problem in my switch ..when just I put key in the hall I heard the alarm key!!!

hello i have a kia ceed 2010 in which the mechanism for the steering lock doesnt engage when i pull out the key from the ignition. Giving a little tap at the bottom of the steering wheel makes the poping sound with which the steering lock engages. The disadvamtage of this is that the car thinks that the keynis still in the ignition so my remote control of the car wont work. I tried lubricating the cylinder with liquid grease sprey and wd40 but it didnt work. Does somebody have any suggestions? Thanks im advance.
