my switch doesnt even detect my sd card it was working 5 min ago and i cant format something if my switch says its not there

my switch says when i put the sd card it says i removed it while i JUST FREAKING PUT IT IN

Just thought I’d comment. Once I tried a different sd card in my switch and realised it was the sd reader in the switch and not my card, I saw a video of someone replacing the reader and realised it’s literally behind the back panel and can easily fall out of place. I opened the switch up and lifted the padded sticker, plugged the ribbon cable back in and reinforced the tape, SD card is working and no problems so far!

So basically if removing the card and turning it off doesnt work then i will lose all my data on my card by reformating? -____-

I restarted 10 times but to no avail. Almost tear open my switch, but decided to blow into the SD card compartment (like how we did with the gameboy cartridge) and it works well!

My SD card was brand new and didn't download any games to it for several days, it only transfered data to it. But one day it randomly fixed itself and started functioning perfectly.

Yeah I had the issue where the console just wouldn't retain the SD card. So, I just pressed down on my SD card with a mini flathead until it finally retained it. Felt like I broke it. Eh oh well. I feel like this console was not subject to the same QA that previous consoles went through.

I have had my Switch since launch day and have had this SD card for a few years now... it just started having these problems today. After having worked just fine the other day. The issues did not seem to help at all. Heck, after trying a few things, no game will even boot up with it on. Guess it's just completely dead and will need a new one.

So my microSd card hasent been working since the day of thanksgiving and I tried all the methods and nothing has worked do you think I might have to get a new one or have the switch get fixed?

Mine works great for like 20 seconds to 12 minutes. Its updated. Ive tried reboot it..re formatting. Blow into it. But Still its like lagging..

none of these steps worked for me. I opened my console and reseated the connector connecting the micro sd card holder to the switch this fixed it for me

Or if none of them work take the stand clip off and push down light but a little hard on the surface if the sd inserter cuz it could have bin pushed up

I’m downloading a game right now and it’s finally working for the people out if your one of the ones where your downloading a game then it says unable to access microsd card try this. Put your Nintendo switch upside down what I’m guess is that the microSD card is little small so then it falls out little bit then the detectors can’t detect it make this top comment so everyone can see please.

I had my Switch since launch and never had a single problem. Traded it in after getting the brand new Zelda OLED a few days ago and this problem occurred. I think the Switch and SD card de-synced due to long use/dust in the slot. Seems okay now only happened once so far.

Everytime i turn on my nintendo it pops up the screen saying cant read it or bla bla turn it off and then my screen just goes black sometimes when i press buttons i something it makes the sounds as if i was moving around but cant and i have to press the power button a bunch of times for the screen to come back and if i turn it off and put it in same stuff happens when turned back on

Hello I have a SanDisk official Nintendo SdCard after about a month of use the Sd Card just stopped working. Whenever I would download something into the card it would download and the I could open the game. However I couldn’t play the game would just load, then crash with an error code. When attempting to move data from the SD card to switch memory it will load for like a minute and then will say unable to access SdCard

I think my Micro SD Card is fake, my Sandisk SD Card works on my Switch Lite, but my new Micro SD Card doesn’t work, it keeps saying save data is corrupted, but it still doesn’t work even tho I redownload it.

Ok everyone. Everything he said is not wrong but most people it doesn’t work so this comment is better than the video. Just replace the sd card slot itself or open the switch and jiggle about the connectors because it may be loose

I've had a switch for a year now and finally got to the point where I needed an SD card for more games. I bought a brand new one for 50 bucks at gamestop, put it in and it wouldn't read. I took out the MicroSD card to copy the contents to my computer to copy, so I can use it in aother Switch. The computer won't see the MicroSD card, I put it back in my Switch, the one it came out of, and it's asking me to format. I have a feeling I lost everything.
