The first bone in our neck is called the Atlas. This holds the weight of the head which is approximately 12 lbs. Forward head posture, incorrect sleeping, slouching, driving, and injuries cause misalignment of the atlas. This lack of mobility leads to inflammation of the nerves and muscles that can cause many different neurological symptoms. Neck pain, headaches, visual conditions, tinnitus, and vertigo commonly seen.

Dear Dr. Mandell, you have changed my life. My atlas was misaligned for a year after a visit to a chiropractor that adjusted me improperly. I have been having issues for so long that hopelessness had a grip on me and I had become very anxious about how I would ever finish my studies because I couldn’t study without being in pain. I wanted to tell you that you have given me my life back. I am crying tears of gratitude and joy right now. I had a very emotional release and I want you to be proud that you have made me whole again.

I also agree by putting castor oil every night on the back of your neck and eat an anti-inflammatory diet like keto which is low carb. It will take some months to see a difference but many times it is inflammation. You can also look up to see if there is a keto doctor or carnivore doctor in your area. There are lots of videos to know how to start a keto diet. May God guide you and heal you in Jesus Name. Amen.

Indeed. Even fatigue, anxiety and depression. The parasympathetic and sympathetic nerves runs through the stomach and in front of aorta affecting all organs. So they carry the symptoms depending which of the two is pinched and getting irritated. It is recent to allopathy doctors that you can get a heart attack from your neck to be the direct cause of it. Yet they are not allowed to promote manual chiropractor therapy for their industry is controlled by drug companies money and guided protocols. I have the problem since 2006 with entire neck and whole spine from severe injury that I had to hunt my own solutions to treat that I tried everything from massage, chiropractor, prolotherapy, acupuncture and herbs and relevant vitamins to reduce acute and chronic inflammation. Any normal person will have died in 3 years, but I was proactive that after 1year I threw my pain mental medications to work on them physically.

Holy Guacamole! My atlas was damaged in a fall as a child and I've had neck issues and headaches ever since (despite many efforts with chiropractors spanning 50 years). I watched this with the familiar early-headache, strain & tension on my left side, and then mindfully performed the exercise, rested and I feel much better. I could notice little 'clunks' and releases as I did the exercise - not just in my atlas area, but all down the trapezius (which is often so tight trying to compensate). There's no hint of headache now - just a little muscle fatigue from the tension. I think that doing this regularly, especially before bed, will really make a difference. Thank-you for this excellent technique!

This WORKS like gangbusters! My neck had been misaligned since February (I'm writing this in November). I had two chiropractic adjustments to try to fix my alignment. Both times, the adjustment was out within minutes -- before I got back to the parking lot. I had near constant neck (nerve) pain, brain fog, sharp nerve pain bending over, sneezing, etc., and my neck/throat protruded forward more than it should. I tried Dr. Mandell's Atlas Fix before bed last night. I slept with a pain-free neck for the first time in months! I did the procedure again this morning and so far, so good. I have minimal muscle pain (probably working through inflammation from months of misalignment), but the nerve pain is gone in my neck, my brain fog is gone and I feel better than I have in a long time! Thanks, Dr. Mandell!

I have been to an UC Dr. for just 5 sessions, just found out about it. The first time I went and had the adjustment was one of the single best things I've done for my health I've ever experienced. I only wished that feeling would last or would be that dramatic in follow up visits. I'm "holding", but the discomfort seems to revert back to what it was before that initial visit. Dear Scooby Doo, it's very difficult to self diagnose! Have you tried an elimination diet, at all? I do get head and neck inflammation, heavy sinuses etc, too as a result of diet. No longer eating wheat largely preventing a heady/woolly head feeling, but you could try short spells if omitting other natural food changes, such as milk, fish, sugar and or wheat. It could reveal surprising results. Hope this atlas procedure does a lot also. Very good luck, with it!🌿

After 25 years of increasing allergic responses to a rapidly increasing list of foods (and negative results on every allergy test) I'm being strongly pulled into a belief I'm reacting to salicylates in plant based foods. I recommend you look into it. While you are doing that try going carnivore for 90 days to give your system a rest and reduce inflammation. Try betaine HCL with each meal. It will help digest foods for easier absorption

One of the other people in this reply section mentioned eliminating milk and to that I say all milk but raw milk, as the enzymes are necessary for digestion so you should never drink pasteurized milk. And while self diagnosis can be risky it's not nearly as risky and trusting doctors, doctors are overrated, and medical error is one of the leading causes of death. Be your own physician. Self diagnosis is pretty reliable, women have pretty good intuition

Awesome, I wish I had found this video 6 months ago. My head was almost immobile with horrible neck and jaw pain along with facial numbness. I used more typical stretches, along with a cervical neck stretcher. The neck stretcher was a Godsend. If you have that kind of pain do yourself a massive favor and get one. Now I have an additonal exercise to use. THANK YOU Doctor. ❤ It may take a few weeks to regain your movement, but be patient and dont stop! Im 100% now.

Thank you for sharing this Dr Mandell. I fell from a barn loft when I was 3 or 4. I remember it to this day and I’m now 62. It knocked me out. I believe this is why my neck has hurt me a-lot especially when tense most of my life. One time of this and my neck feels much better! I know a little friend who started having seizures when a small girl. They said she had epilepsy but her mother researched what could be wrong instead. She learned about the Atlas and took her out of state to a chiropractor who specialized in this.To this day she has had no more seizures and she is mid 40’s now! So glad to learn how to do this myself. Thank you thank you! 🥰

I go once a month to a woman who checks my atlas bone out, makes sure it’s straight. She’s been able to see that my pelvis was out of alignment. If your Atlas bone is aligned properly, the rest of your spine is too.

Awesome, I just clicked on this while I was trying to cope with the unpleasant symptoms that were making it very un-fun to keep my eyes focused on the computer while sitting up at the same time (despite my efforts to make it all as ergonomic as I can, sometimes I just have to give up and go back to lying down in a darkened room if I don't want to throw up). I am prone to this sort of thing since I have a congenital curve in my spine and I am always trying new ways to relieve it when it acts up. Most of the time I am healthier than many people that I know, but then I get hit by things like nausea, headaches, and motion sickness the rest of the time. So this helps a lot, thank you!

I’m amazed at how my range of motion improved. Will be cool to do a proper head turn while backing up my car! FYI, took me a few tries to find the right spots and I actually had better luck using my two middle fingers. No light feeling; just relief. Also, just noticed that my tinnitus is almost zip! You’ve helped me a lot!My C-4&5 had to be fused. Old injury left cord kinked and twisted, the cord did open within a yr of surgery. The perm result, hyper spastic cord injury case, esophageal sphincter, neurogenic bladder and leg muscles functionally inconsistent. I’ve healed from being in a chair to driving & walking again without assistance but the condition doesn’t allow consistent physical therapy for any body area without aggravating the spasticity. Like a dance student with 2 left feet progress is a yrs vs months. I love your videos and wish you had the search your channel feature because everything you teach to work with the brain works and I know you know it’s my brain designed to heal being anxious that creates the spasticity. I’ve dramatically weaned down on drugs. Determination and natural remedies are the why I’m making progress. I’ll try this. I’m not noticing any mobility issue in this area, but it would stretch the muscles. I’m always looking for ways to stretch muscles around the spine. Thank you for being here to help all of us heal and thrive!!
