I have a 2007 Toyota 4R V8. The heater works erratically, the symptoms are,1) Low coolant, add coolant heater works, Have a slow leak that is part of the problem but cannot figure where.2) After adding coolant heater works until it leaks out.3) At the no heat point if the engine is running at 1500 + rpm heat is working.I wonder if the Heater control valve is the problem, I don't see any leaks in the hoses.Thank you

Hi, I put stop leak in my coolant for an small leak in the head gasket. But short after my heating wasnt working. Then I purged my heating core and the radiator with a hosse of water and the water went clean. Unfortunately, it didnt work, I have low heating. But I didnt purged the coolant inside the block amd I didnt touch the thermostat... What do you think I should do? Thanks for the help.

How do you access the Heater Core in the engine compartment of a 2001 Audi TT without removing the Steel Bar in front of it? Or, do you have to remove it?

For somebody looking through the videos and running across this I had this problem and they had put a security system in my car and when they took the bottom dash cover off there was a plastic heater hose that would come out- there was one end disconnected that was my problem.

Great video but I have very little knowledge about how to do car repairs, and very little money to have someone else do it. I was hoping your video would show how to remove and check the AC/Heater fan blower but it seems to be more for people with a fair amount of car repair knowledge because you show many of the problems but not how to get the part out or how to gain access to the problem area.I have a 1997 Olds Bravada, which has no heat and we will have a high in the mid 20's tomorrow. I would like to get heat to my car as it has been 2 years without heat and the fan is one of the last things I would be able to check. Do you have a video that would help me?

I have a 2004 Ford Freestar van air conditioning is the best I've ever had in any vehicle so I am reluctant to fuss much with the heater in fears I will break the air conditioning unit I live in Fresno California which is hot 10 months of the year and cold two months of the year it blows a large volume of air but it keeps going from warm to cold warm to cold in no particular pattern if you can tell me what this might be it would be great thank you

I'm not quite sure of your question but maybe you want to know why your car overheated had to be repaired? If your radiator has a hole in it and loses the fluid long enough it can cause your car to overheat and blow the head gasket - I knew someone that did this she just kept driving the car. Is that what you needed to know?

2006 f150, air blows fine on all settings. Cold AC is super cold. On heat, you can definitely tell it has switched over but it barely gets warm. Already changed blend door actuator, and nothing is causing the door to stick under the dash. Coolant is full and hoses on both sides of the heater core are hot as they should be. Any other ideas?

4 people reading this now I think only the newer cars have cabin filters and on his the vacuum line he's referring to is probably in the heater water lines in the engine some cars don't have that feature.

What does a mechanic typically charge to diagnose the issue with the AC or heater in a vehicle?

Really depends of the make and model and where you live. Also depends on the issue. If they normally test 20 tests and they find it on the first one its going to be less than if it was test 20. I'd guess 100-200 depending on what it is. Thanks for watching!

I have a 2006 pontiac grand prix and my heat doesn't feel like its working . i have also noticed that i can heat the car up with my gauge going well above first line and then when i start moving car it all of sudden drops below line again. Ive replaced my thermostat like 3 times and still have little to no heat. What could it be?

I have a 2014 Nissan Rogue. My heat literally stopped working yesterday 🥶. There was a burning plastic smell followed by a kind of rattling noise and then nothing, no heat, no blowing, nothing. Any reccomendations as to what the problem is would be appreciated!

hi. when I turn on the defrost or the heater/ air conditioner lots of air but its neither hot nor cold, and doesn't defrost my windows. . sometimes it blows like "greasy air" (if you will)to the front window

I read where if you get greasy like feature on the glass it's a bad heater core-leaking antifreeze - mine has an overflow on the firewall so if it leaked antifreeze it would be underneath the car and not where you would see it.

Like 👍 &subed. Quick video,lots of info. Going to reverse flush core & check around the fan. Cabin filter has never been changed that I know of+ saved a bunch of fast food napkins a while back.they made their way behind the glove box and need to come out of there. That should do it & if not ,needs to be done anyway. Short & sweet video is appreciated.

It’s cold as cold can be in New York right now. Just moved here from Cali and my Jeep has no heat. Didn’t need it before but holy smokes I need it!

My 2000 Caravan has computerized HVAC controls and, based on calibration tests I've seen , the system has some sort of failure. Your video does not address the controls. Could that be a problem. The heat stopped working in late winter (20-21), fan speed 4 (of 5) acts as if fan speed is off, and when I move the temperature slider from cold to hot, airflow goes to almost nothing but the fan is still turning (audible noise).

My girlfriend's car heater isn't blowing any hot air. It's a Nissan Micra, it's about 20+ years old. I checked the engine coolant reservoir and it appeared to be empty. The red engine temperature light was on too. I put some new 50/50 coolant in, the temp light has gone out but it's still only blowing out cold air. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I'm registered disabled myself and I'll usually have a go myself, as it's not really worth throwing any more money at the car. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I have audi a3 its losing water and also heatings not working its only work if i go over 70mph than when i stop car heating not working. I have change coolant bottle change water pump and timing belt i spend about £500 but im still facing same problem. I went to AUDI they said there is no leaking found but where is water goes? I have to keep toping up 3 4 time could u please help me?

I live in Alberta last night after work I topped off my car with some coolant heat was working fine I got home still working woke up this morning -16 ready to go to work my heater or ac won’t even turn on had to take an Uber to work car works but I need heat I can’t see what should I do or wait till Monday for mechanic very strange

This video is amazing...I too was like, why this guys does now show the HOW to repair is possible problem? Well, its because we have to got down the line using the method of elimination. I already put coolant and yes, it was low. I get a bit of hot air and then if fades away. So now I know its the heater control valve, the air cabin filter(lots of small leaving coming in, ... and finally the blower motor. I bet you...tomorrow is day. I already feel like I won something today.

@@2carpros Friend, my 1997 camry. I did all the test and it pass them all except that I need to check the heater control valve. I think that one is inside on the lower left side of the glove compartment. I also need to check the blend actuator. but before that, I wanted to ask you: the car does blow cold air...but when I turned it to hot, it blows air not not air. Here is another clue: the car does blow hot for a bout 15 seconds and even tho it keeps blowing air, it does not come hot no more! What would it be???

So here’s where I’m at.. my speakers were bugging out, and I narrowed it down to the head unit. I managed to fix it that, but now my heat doesn’t work. It will only blow cold air. It worked while I was on the way to get the new part, but after I replaced it, nothing. I plugged in the old head unit to make sure it was nothing to do with the new part, but that’s not the case.. Anyone?

@@2carpros I've got all the underneath of my dash torn out and yesterday just removed a few clamps and stuff and took out my heater core and cleaned it out. I still think air bypasses it somehow and I'm missing something. This is on a 1989 Pontiac Grand Am and when I slide the heater knob over and look underneath the gutted out dash - I can see a metal blend door moving up and down. I'm thinking maybe because I've got everything torn out of there it's not working right but I don't know. Few days ago I took it to a shop and he said the bottom of my heater core was scalding hot so it was okay and that water wasn't going through it. He said to take it home save money and backflush it. I did! I flushed a little bit of rusty water out of it and rinsed it out with toilet bowl cleaner and then clear water! ( I have just replaced this heater core within the last 2 months) now I'm back to square one burped out the air and still no heat. Argh! Now you know what I keep going back to is how they say if your water pump is bad then you're not going to have heat - the blades inside it rust out and you can't tell there's anything wrong cuz there's no water weeping out of the water pump when it's bad. But water circulates I guess because it's bubbling up in my overflow tank. After I put the heater core back on I turned on the fan expecting the air to go through the coils of the heater core but instead it came out by these two metal air conditioner lines. I don't have heat and I don't have an air conditioner so I either freeze or fry. The air conditioner is another story.

I've seen it where people have had a bad knob or vacuum line. My sister had a truck and she disconnected the battery cables, connected them back up and the heater worked. Someone said if you have a bad water pump and it doesn't circulate around you won't get heat- the blades inside rust out. Then if you just replaced your thermostat it could still be bad. Then some cars don't have a thermostat in them and then some had the thermostat in backwards or stuck open. They say when you turn the knob inside for heat you should hear the damper door sound in your dash thump.

After doing a complete coolant flush, is it possible on a MK4 golf to reverse the pipes to the heater matrix so it now runs in reverse or do they only operate one way round?
