No matter how many videos I watch on the one plane swing this is the one I hold on to the most. My body won't allow me to hold the club to far away. Golfers of all ages should learn one plane, here's a great example.

I've been a single planer for a while now. I started out with natural golf and Moe Normans method but I never could actually own that swing. Watching your videos and listening to the comments that you make about being yourself makes a lot of sense. I stand 6ft 5in and I never felt comfortable with my feet spread so far apart ,never really felt natural. Your method feels more natural and I hope to own my swing soon. Thank you sir. I do really enjoy your comparisons between Natural Golf and your method in all of your videos thus far.

This is definitely one of the best, and most important instructional videos I have seen...In order to strike the ball solid, the hands have got to be in front of the ball at impact...Great video!!!

BRAVO! I happened to stumble across this video and it made a huge difference to me. I have been doing a single plane-like swing and just couldn't do the Moe Norman ball position and felt like it was a mistake not to until I saw this. I just forgot how important it was to keep the shaft out front. This video is simple and easy and made a huge immediate difference. Thank you.

I work on impact most of the time when I practice with a lot of slow swings which are also part of my instructional learning package. If you cannot make perfect impact on a 1/4 swing then what do you expect on longer swings. Perfect impact first and then learn to move faster.

Love this video, my only question is why is the ball way at the front foot, is that proper? The ball is at the back of your front heel, I was always under the impression it should be more centre stance
@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact 4 жыл бұрын
It looks that way due to camera angle. I tend to put the camera across from the middle of my body so it makes the ball look forward. I should put the camera exactly opposite the ball. Plus I move around when hitting shots and filming so it looks different every time. Ball with irons should be inside the leading foot by a few inches for normal shots. More back for lower shots and forward for higher.

@@Setup4Impact awesome man thanks for letting me know. I had some succes actually by moving the ball up slightly from middle on my iron shots, they felt more pure and less fade which I want. So maybe I'll keep it that way. I feel like I always had it too far back for irons that caused face to be slightly open and have fade. With driver too far forward and again causing slice cuz I was hitting it on the major up rotation.

Do you take the club back with the arms or shoulders? Thanks
@thomasfraser9072
@thomasfraser9072 4 жыл бұрын
John Bassi not sure if Kirk will answer you or not. Actually I find you take the club back with neither. Do you know that their are very specific lateral side muscles groups contained in both your upper and lower body that serves exclusively to rotate your body back and forth? When you discover these exclusive muscle groups for yourself; on your backswing simply rotate your upper body back beginning with the trail side lateral muscles of your upper body followed by your trail lateral thigh muscles. No straining or pulling any muscle should be applied; simply rotate them until they naturally stop. At the transitional part of you downswing you reverse direction starting with rotating your lead side lateral muscles of your thigh as well as your upper body lead lateral side muscles rotating in conjunction with your thigh. Do not push forward with your trail foot on your downswing as the lateral muscles of your lead side us will do this automatically for you as well as rotate your hips automatically to the finish of your swing There is really nothing to think about as long as your aim and stance to the ball is as Kirk suggest Simply rotating your body back and forth with your lateral muscles groups and staying in your spine angle as you are swinging the club will start a complete and automatic sequence to your swing you never thought possible before. At 73 I just discovered this for myself. No one teaches this; but we can clearly see it in Bryson DC swing. Cheers

I got a question i got a Mark omera grip trainer its the same grip...I just got it to make sure i got hands on correct in my practice...Have you ever tried a grip trainer grips? Would it be good to also use a trainer club? its heavy an practiceing to learn this swing do you think it will help progress of muscle memory faster?
@Setup4Impact

The problem is that each person needs to be able to hold the club in such way that the club face is automatically square for them through impact. No two people hold the club exactly the same. So I see no value in it except possibly for a brand new golfer learning the game.

@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact 4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I am sure they would have an answer as to why it is better. I doubt you could find any other golf pros who would agree though. It is a recipe for shorter and less accurate shots. Maybe they do not want their customers to improve too much? Then they need a lot of lessons and schools. Hard to say but sad.

1. This is not "free" new information... been said 10,000 times by other people, so for that, no thumbs up because you requested it. 2. Can't find another person that hits like Mo Norman?? Really? Todd Graves has continued that school of thought. 3. DeChambeau is showing us that the stereotypical swing isn't best for all... so don't be so rigid in your thinking that we should all learn the way that pros hit. 4. I do thank you for trying to post something.
@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact 4 жыл бұрын
Did you pay? It has been said thousands of times. How come 99.998% of golfers cannot do it? Todd teaches his version of Moe’s swing, but cannot. hit the ball like Moe, or match Moe’s impact position. Bryson sets up for impact just like I teach and people trying the method improve VERY quickly. Thank you for your comment as that helps more than a thumbs up!!!

@@Setup4Impact i started Natural Golf back in 1999. Trying to find the best distance to stand from the ball? Also what is the best grip size i have small hands ? thanks
@Setup4Impact
@Setup4Impact 4 жыл бұрын
@@richfromboston Use practice swings without a golf ball to see where you Strike the ground and how far this is from your feet. Then use that distance when you go to the ball. I recommend larger grips that what most use. If your hand is like 7 inches from wrist crease to longest finger I would recommend a normal Jumbo grip from Golf pride. Try one first. If small then that you could go to midsize. For larger I then recommend JumboMax UltraLites starting with Small and moving up from there.

It is grip - people compensate in all kinds of ways for a bad grip. You need to explain how that grip functions through the swing. Your grip looks weakish to me - not sure if that is true or not.

Here is Kirk's instructional video on the grip. We start at neutral and if a stronger grip is needed, that is one of the customizations allowed. I had a very strong grip when conventional, but stuck with the neutral when learning Setup 4 Impact and now it feels comfortable and I do very well with it.
