Fascinating that you can't hear the "-sh" at the end. I asked a Turkish native about it once and he said there is absolutely no "-sh" sound. I thought he was joking - as a native English speaker it's very obvious (to me) that there is. Great video. Subscribed.

I'm a Spanish speaker and I also hear Turkish people pronounce R at the end of words like a kind of soft "sh" or something similar to the Czech "Ř"

Not only for English speaker I am Chinese and I am learning Turkish for interest. I swore I hear a clear sh at the end of words. So I was searching for this topic in KZfaq and ended up here. As I know, R also has different sound in German so I don’t wonder Turkish people say it is only one sound of R meanwhile for foreigners it seems that R has 3 sounds… at the bending middle and the end. By the way, R at the beginning sounds like r of English? Why it doesn’t sound like r in the middle of the 2 vowls that tap a hard palate?
