Thanks John. Very useful. My 200 has exactly the same symptoms so will follow your suggestions. Even as a mechanical incompetent think I might be able to do this.

Great video, thanks. Forget buying a replacement internal battery from Halfords. Instead buy a decent Lucas 12V 22Ah/20Hr (ref; LSLC22-12) often used on big lawn mowers and about £45. 10% more Amp Hours too.

someone gave me the 100 version of this power pack and the battery had only 0.6V across it...so i removed the battery and charged it with an external power supply using about 30V and slowly but surely the battery is now charging ok.

Thanks for that John I will sort mine out now. I managed to source another one a lot cheaper £24.22 and it is made in Japan.
@johnrogers67057 жыл бұрын
Nice one Alex. At the time I had real problems finding a battery I did find cheaper but it had the + and - around the other way. If it works would you mind putting a link on here where you brought it from to help others? Thanks John
@mikebarrett32306 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for the tip - it's actually made in Hong Kong, not Japan, but if it works, it works!

Thanks John Rogers, I have just found this great video and have managed to replace the Battery in my Powerpack which stopped working 5 years ago and has been in the loft ever since. It is now charging up and fingers crossed all will be well. I googled for batteries and got an identical one but different brand for £51.99 on Amazon. If anyone is reading this is there any advice for replacing the fluorescent tubes. There appear to be no markings on them and I have lost any instructions and I am unsure what rating they are. Thank you.

I've got one which has an issue, The Battery isn't brilliant but it is useable for the time being, I believe mine has a problem with the Charging Circuit, The original PSU died and I found one that seemed to do an adequate Job, I believe I made the mistake of plugging in a PSU which I thought was the correct one and all I heard was a Relay constantly clicking, I quickly removed the PSU and now after finding the correct one it's still not happy charging the Battery, I'm wondering if theirs an internal Fuse or if the Relay itself has popped, When I connect the correct PSU that I was using the LED comes on but remains Green regardless of how much Charge is in the Battery, It doesn't flick to Orange like it used to do? At the moment I can charge mine using My Big Absaar Car Charger and it seems to do the Job fine as long as I don't select fast boost on My Big Absaar Car Charger, It doesn't matter how long it's been on charge for but when I press the Test button on the Powerpack it just displays the first 2 LED's, Please see Pic and thanks for any and all help offered: www.aj-cs.co.uk/pics/powerpack_200_faulty.jpg

Great video thanks for taking the time to make it. Did you try to recover the old battery with a Optimate /smart charger? Can you charge the battery via the jumper leads? UPDATE I have just charged my 5 yr old booster pack with its standard charger and the voltage was 12.6 v I then charged it on the optimate 6 charger using the two jumper leads and the voltage has increased to 12.9 v ;)

I did go to Halfords to attempt to order a new set of accessory leads, but they said they have changed to new power packs and they don't stock these leads anymore. dose anyone have a set of accessory leads and charger lead too. Will to buy from you'll, or if you know a store outlet thats sells them,. Great Video too, thankyou

Does anyone know where i can get replacement parts for the compressor on this powerpack ?
@davidbrown83035 жыл бұрын
The compressors are very cheaply made and almost meant as a throw away.
@user-vu6wy1so6o4 жыл бұрын
If the compressor doesn't work it might be that the peg contacts within the rear panel haven't been inserted properly. This is can happen accidentally when replacing the back panel. Worth a try.
@ciaranduffy72596 жыл бұрын
I have the same power pack. The battery is charging and all functions of the pack are working fine apart from the compressor it won't turn on at all....any ideas on this.??
@johnrogers67056 жыл бұрын
It could be anything from connection to the switch or motor not working
@user-vu6wy1so6o4 жыл бұрын
When you put the rear panel back on ensure the pegs that stick outwards on the power connections fit into the clips on the compressor. It's easy to not get them aligned and then the compressor won't work.

www.tayna.co.uk/jump-packs/batteries/pl1700/ fits. I've got a s/h one with no mains unit, open the back and put a normal battery charger on ( at low current setting)
