It is so interesting revisiting this space because I feel like a totally different woman now and don't recognize who decorated this to begin with. That is why I always say don't feel weird about revisiting a space because it should evolve with you. I am happy that I am keeping the yellow and working with it since in person when you walk into this space, it's hard not to feel the room is hugging you. This color does something to you man. I decided to make this room where all my passions outside of carpentry and interior design can live. I am truly falling in love with this eclectic meets industrial vibe we have going on throughout the party pad.

Good to see you changing stuff up as you settle in to yourself 😊 If the stain you were using is spelled Jacobean it's pronounced Jackobeean. If it's not then ignore the history stuff that follows😁 The Jacobean era followed the original Elizabethan one and typical furniture of the time was heavy and very dark 🤷♀️

I actually love the black pipes for the floral drying station. I think copper would compete with the drying flowers. It all looks so good! I love what you did!

This is definitely a place I could also be happy in. I can't wait for that damn pottery wheel to get there either! Using clay is a whole 'nother experience that has to be done rather than explained, and I am so happy you're going down that route. Just watch, two years from now there'll be Metz original pottery for sale in the local mom n pop Joshua Tree stores for tourists to pick up! You just have to get the proper wiring in place for a kiln, unless you do the old timey fire pit kiln thing which is just as satisfying. Thank you so much for taking us down this road with you, darling. You are amazing and WE LOVE YOU for it! 🫂💐

Beautiful! The Master Gardening program is a great way to learn about botany. Here in Oregon it’s offered in January and a February because there isn’t a lot going on plant wise because of the weather. At the time I went through the program it was offered for free with the stipulation that you put 40 hours back into the program with volunteer hours. I did a few booth days and then finished out with a week at the main office answering the hotline. I learned so much and ended up going through a two year program for Landscape Technology through our local Community College which transferred into owning a vineyard for ten years. Never saw that coming. 😬😊 Have fun!

I was a little sceptical at first when you said you weren't getting rid of the mirrior but I honestly love this more than the original. The mirror wall adds so much character to the space and it makes it feel more open I'm a huge plant nerd so love the illustration on the wall. A beautiful make over once again.

:D i always like re-visiting old diys or projects. they really are some sort of archaeology into one's personality. when you said 'it really reflected who is was - a hot mess' i felt this so much LOL but ya - you know, sometimes we are a hot mess, and that mustn't mean the we can't create. at the time, staying busy and doing something, ANYTHING, probably helped you processing to, and that means it had value!
