Fixing ANOTHER broken CO2 regulator. Solenoid not closing.

So i bought this brand new DEM machinery CO2 regulator a few weeks ago. It lasted all of 5 days until i came out to the tank one morning, to find that the CO2 had been running all night, even though the magnetic solenoid valve was off.
So let's fix it! ....well i actually already fixed it, back when it broke. But i thought i would repeat the steps, so you can see what i did. :)
This fix should work for all similar regulators with the same issue, such as ZRDR, Mufan, and others.

Hi Christian, I just saw your video. I just wanted to ask if it is normal that the solenoid valve gets hot when it is on? If not, what will be the best remedy to fix itThank you in advance.

Hej Christian, I have a MuFan regulator and did the steps as you mentioned. But now when I turn on the soleniod, it does not make the click sound and no bubbles appear in the bubble counter. Do you know what could have possibly gone wrong and how to fix it ?

Fzone works great till I decided to not put the filter on 1 time and it let some of the mix of citric acid a sodium bicarbonate get in the solenoid noe it works after cleaning for a while then stops working again I also removed the safety valve and put 400 grams of both and double the water now I get the canister upto 50 60 psi of co2 it lasts a month or so before recharge. BTW I bout 2 aftermarket solenoids and both were shit the best fix for this is on day 1 put 1ft of tubing between the reg/solenoid and the tank that way it keeps the moisture and mix away from the solenoid then they never fail they get hot but no fail

Will silicone grease work and be ok for fish?

If you go for a grease, i would go for lithium grease. That should be safe, and i've used that successfully on another defective regulator. It also works long term, and its properties stay consistent through time. It doesn't really dry out or become sticky, as many other types of grease will. It shouldn't eat through the seals either. I'm not too sure about the properties of silicone grease. :) But a neutral hobby oil or sowing machine oil like the one i'm using here, can be found in pretty much any DIY or hardware store, and that's plenty enough for this job.
