Electrolux Ergorapido Li-21 Vacuum Cleaner, will run just 4 seconds and then it only charges for a little bit. So more or less it won't run and it won't charge. The Vacuum Cleaner has three 18650 lithium cells, that tunes out to have an interesting issue.

I have messed around with electronic since I was 7 years old. Well, it´s a vacuum cleaner,, it gets dirty :-) And fixing an "Expensive" piece of electronic, and returning it in cleaned condition. Gives good points :-) And we have a relationship, and is someone that I might need to do me a favor in the future.

I also have the same type but i guess mine is a bit newer. It also wont run for long. Very handy vacuume cleaner, maybe i should open it and have a look! Would be great if i could fix it, it was pretty expensive!

This is the same thing that kills many laptop and power tool batteries. The BMS on these boards only protects the cells from over charge and over discharge. Most of these small BMS boards don't have any provisions for balancing since the manufacturer wants people to buy new batteries or new devices when the old ones get out of balance and have a short runtime.

I build some big battery packs 14s10p and the BMS only balances when the battery is fully charged,, and with 5mA (better than nothing) but not enough.

I've also seen charging to less than 100% with my laptop and a new tablet (unless I ask it to go to full), to prolong battery life years. I think I've also seen this mentioned with electric cars, only charging up to 100% when chosen, same idea with less in daily operation. With such a vacuum docked after use, it is quite likely that it would sit for a long time fully charged, which is not what the batteries like.

Well I would go closer to the 4.2v ,, and this BMS clearly does not balances out the cells,, so the vacuum cleaner will stop working long before the cells are worn out :-/

Do you happen to know how many mAh that the batteries run on :)? Plenty of different versions of the 18650-battery out there 🤔 My grandmom has the exact same model, the exact same issue. I just don't have the measuring tools that you happen to have, so I was thinking of just putting new batteries in, and then hope that it'll work 😅

I can't remember exactly,, but believe they was rather low capacity,, like 1100mAh,, but the ones in the vacuum cleaner you are fixing can be totally different. You really need a little multimeter,, they are as cheap as the cells :-/

I rather its stop at 4 volts :) Longer overall battery life. Would be almost a perfect little rechargeable vacuum. And 1st!

Can the IBM x3650 7979 detect 96GB RAM (12x8GB DDR2 ECC) or will it only detect 48GB RAM?

I had this problem with my unit. I thought it wasn’t charging because it wouldn’t run. All I had to do is clean out the bar at the bottom. It wouldn’t run because it couldn’t with so much thread and hair stuck in it.

I do not think this is the same problem,, as I could also not run it for long as just the handheld version.

Hi, thanks for the video! Had exactly the same problem. I’ve had the vacuum cleaner for several years and replaced once the batteries due to short running time but did not compare the batteries. That balancing would have helped at least for some time. There might be some kind of power limiter that shuts it off in case of extreme load. Noticed long time ago that it wouldn’t run too long with the brush unit running. Helped when took it apart and cleaned. There is a small motor & rubber belt assy (plenty of dirt in it) running the rotary brush.

Our Ergorapido gave up today. The transistor marked Q10 on the PCB is fried. Too bad this isn't your hoover, because then I'd ask you to have a look for a part number. 🥲

@@MyPlayHouseI've seen that there are several different motherboards, but the one in your video is identical to mine. I can even see the Q10 transistor. I guess I'll try replacing it with a 'general purpose' transistor and see wht happens.
