Yes Rob, you are so right. It is very important that those rafters are reinforced and/or brace added to distribute the weight evenly throughout the ceiling mount for safety. We have both because there used to be a chain fall installed for pulling V8s out of race cars back in the 1970s. 🏎️ Safety first 🙂

If you’re really OCD like me, make three registration marks for the idler belt keeper - one on top and one on either side. Otherwise, parallax view could alter how well you align the keeper when reinstalling. Just sayin’, y’all! 😉👍

Awesome video and great information, cuz!! I love how you can take the decks off with ease!! Are all Zero turns like that? We still have not gotten a Zero yet but maybe next season or end of this one!! Still looking for recommendations for 3 acres of cut in a residential zero!! Thanks, pal!!

Thanks cuz. Unfortunately they are not all that easy. Tough question about a zero turn. I would make sure to get one with a commercial deck and a Kawasaki engine.

One thing on the idler pulley, if you can take the pulley apart, the bearing is a 6203 . I have drilled out the rivets replace the bearing and use4 bolts and nuts to put back together. Much cheaper than new idler pulleys.

Thanks for the video! I have the exact same mower which runs fine just throws the belt constantly. On mine it looks like the belt runs on the upper half of the idler pulley and isn't "in plane" with the spindles which seem to be maybe 3/4" lower. I bought it used with low hours. I suspect they maybe put shorter spindles and it's causing it? Or could it be an over tightened idler spring? I'm about to pull my hair out. I replaced the idler but it still does it. I'm to the point I'm going to order all new parts and start over. Thank you again

Hi, great video. I have the same mower and i am trying to figure out my issue. Was using last fall and a spring came off and inturn the belt came off. I have taken the deck off. One of the pulleys doesnt seem to sit right and has more play than the one on that deck your working on. Not sure what to do to fix it.
@Mrs.T-bone
@Mrs.T-bone Ай бұрын
Check the center of the pulley, it should have a ball bearing, if the bearing is worn, it can come apart and the balls will fall out or if it has splines they could be worn off. The spring probably goes to your tensioner arm which holds tension on the belt. Careful visual inspection helps.

Why can’t the home garage guy buy parts from Rotary? Apparently they’re only available to account holders, ie shops. That’s bullshit . I’m perfectly capable of fixing the equipment without paying $100 hr labor. I just don’t want to get screwed on the parts. There oughta be a law against this. I needed a start/ run cap for my AC condenser. City Electric quoted me $15.00, my electrician buddy got it for me for $7.50.
@RaleysSmallEngines
@RaleysSmallEngines 2 ай бұрын
Great question. All you need is a business license and a tax number because Rotary is wholesale only. Sometimes you can find good prices on Rotary parts on Ebay from a dealer.
