In this video, I restored my Grandfathers Rolex Tudor Oyster ref 5543. All it needed was a good service and clean up.
The movement is an FHF 30 which Rolex re-branded as a Rolex cal 59. It has Coats De Geneve and features an endstone for the escape wheel.
Once completed, it ran at +4 seconds per day with 0.1 m/s beat error.
The case was also re-finished as my grandfather still wanted to wear the watch and wanted it to look like new.
Once completed, I changed the manky Nato strap to a 17mm Hirsch lizard skin strap.
If you have any questions about this watch or about the tools used, please leave a comment and I’ll try and respond as quickly as I can.
