Thanks, yeah still has a bit of patina on it! Just waiting for new wheel caps to turn up, May paint the wheels, not sure yet. At least she cuts well now! Thanks for watching.

Really enjoyed this Marcus, job well done mate, you may know I have a 1953 Atco lawnmower, great to keep them going and look after them isn't it .

Yes I did know that Paul, it’s not actually mine, I’ve just been fixing it up for my mum. For a rough cut mower, it actually now cuts really nice with the new blades. Not in the condition of yours, that really is a beauty, from the days of being over engineered, they last forever. Thanks mate.

Hi Marcus, Great video. Just fixing up my own Hayter Hayterette 5HP Rough Cut circa 1980. It's an ex parks mower so had seen plenty of action before I purchased it. It's been out of action last 6 years so just getting back into action. It has the same air filter set up as yours - cartridge with a cover that now turns to dust the moment you touch it. Same chrome filter cover also. Would you have a part number(s) for both parts or can you point me to where you bought them? Thanks, John.

They really are great mowers. The hack with the wheel bearings isn’t ideal but does the job. I believe the air filter part number is 390930 and the foam pre filter is 393957S but if you get the model and type number of the engine and take that to your local Briggs and Stratton dealer they’ll give you the correct bits. Unfortunately its was new old stock and no longer available from the manufacturer. Was lucky to find it. Thanks for watching.

Great video , do you have a link for the wheel bearings great to see original air filter housing most have the ones off the classic 3.5

The wheel bearings are genuine hayter part number 104-8699 bearings. It’s not ideal that you have to deform them but it does work. One thing I would do though is look for some slimline lock nuts.

Hello. I am about to start a restorer on one of these. I need to locate a air filter box and and exhaust. Any ideas.

Your local Briggs and Stratton dealer. You’ll need the Model, Type and Code numbers stamped on the engine.

@@MarcusTDM they don't carry anything this engine it's too old. I am looking for second hand but they are scarce.

@@MrBilbo44uk then you will have to look for second hand or new old stock. These engines don’t need a lot maintenance generally just routine servicing.

You know what year the Hayterette got his Iron Cast bore? What year is yours ?

Late 80 or 81, we got it in 81. Been a good mower.

The I/C Engine came out in 77/78. Before that it was just the Aluminium cool bore 130902 Engine

I have two hayterette :-) see my channel to see them running. i need to replace the blades on my 3.5 model. the 5.0 professional needs new rings and a con rod.

Blades are available, Part no 2779 blade pack and 590 for the bolts! Parts for the 5hp engine might be a bit more difficult. 👍🏻

@@MarcusTDM I have the Connecting Rod and Rings. Just executive dysfunction in getting it done lol 🤣
