I promised you guys I would keep you updated on fixing up my cabin, so here it is in all of it's chaoticness. 🙃 I'm going to be completely honest and say I don't know what happened with this video... I think I might have started losing my mind near the end. But all in all, i'm super happy with how the mudroom/pantry turned out, and feel like it really makes the cabin THAT much cozier.
Thanks for putting up with me 😂♥️

I so appreciate this comment. May I ask how you find your business in these times? Would you change your skill set if you could? I ask because I'm one of those people that can do a lot, I just don't know what to focus on as a lucrative career for overall wellbeing of self/functional/sustainable earnings. Anything you'd warn against? I'm stuck between welding, carpentry, automotive repair, home renovation, and doing what every other woman my age group has done, and gone into the medical field (I'd much rather learn a trade)
@donwyates
@donwyates 3 жыл бұрын
@@RP-ez2jm I wouldn't normally "highjack" a question addressed to another, but I relate so much to it (IT, and woodworking for me). The short version is: follow your passion(s), and reject conditioning. I know, the former is cliche and the latter... well, difficult. The long version acknowledges the vast land of Shithappens, and plays the hand that's dealt. I wish I'd learned more, earlier, and spent more time with my (now deceased) parents. I'm currently retired and living on the road, enjoying my lifelong hobby, photography. I sold many of my tools, and I keep my relationship with tech, simple.

Hannah girl, Not only are you great at DIY but love your quirky humor. You could totally do a DIY with Hannah tv/cable show...get someplace like Home Depot or Ace Hardware to be sponsors...get them and varnish company to sponser you here. I'm not sure there are any other women doing the kind of renovations and makeovers you do. Lots of sewing, crafts, etc. but not full on building and home renovations. Somebody give this woman a contract! Or maybe consider teaching young women (heck, all women) how to use power tools and renovations. I'm 65 and am only now learning these things. I'm from a time women were never empowered to do the kind of renovations you do. I admire you and am a huge fan. You Go! 👏👏👏👏👏

Hey Hannah, instead of unscrewing the boards every season, would putting hinges on the front work with a simple latch into the wall? Also, I see on a lot of conversions people do like a skinny rolling pantry to cover tight spaces that have no use. Good for holding spices and other things. Maybe that space by the door could be that?

You literally read my mind lol. I thought a hinge door on the water heater would give better access, and that long, narrow space in the doorway I thought would be perfect space for tiny shelves to keep spices. I didn't think of the "rolling" spice rack though 😆👍

@@somedudeinatunnel3102 I agree and I'm female. A woman should learn to do as much as she can on her own, same with men. At a certain age however, when you can no longer lift drywall yourself nor shovel 2 feet of snow or don't have the knowledge nor skill level to do your own plumbing or fireplace chimney repairs, help is needed. Even this girl had her Uncle put up drywall for her in another video. I own a home and am divorced and can do some things myself but for some I have a male friend who has the knowledge and body strength to help me.

one thing I would suggest is to sand down the corner of that cabinet! Since it's partially in front of the door it will be a big ouch if you run into it a lot, having a more "rounded" edge could prevent a bruise. Alternatively you could cut off the corner completely and put a flat smaller piece of plywood so it's more of a flattened edge instead of a sharp corner (would probably only take you like 30-40 mins) Also I suggest building a box with a small cabinet door on it and raising up your fridge by 2-3ft! It'll make the fridge more accessible and get rid of the unused space on top of the fridge, and give another storage cabinet for less used items.
