Christ, man, this is incredible. Not only is this leagues beyond what they gave us, but if they actually put this into the game it'd have been one of the best storylines they've ever made. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt the Scarlet Crusade's involvement was out of place. How the hell did they manage to get there before Genn did, after the Forsaken left? And why would the Scarlets be so set on taking a city that they know the Alliance would come for in full force?

oh wow, i didn't even realize that this video was new nor that this channel barley has any subs either way i agree 100% with this video and as a longtime worgen/gilneas lover, i'm honestly so disappointed with what they did with the whole questline

I still really don't like the Horde and Alliance merging thing that the writers are doing. But your story does definitely feel a lot better than the one we got. Though not sure I would want it as a neutral city. Maybe a Forsaken embassy or something if you really have to push love and hugs between the factions.

I was disappointed in the Gilneas recovery too. I wanted the city to have more in it afterward. I also wish the house on the hill had been repopoulated. I don't think the armor set is ugly, but I wear the original armor on my worgen because it looks better in my opinion. I like your ideas.

I love your alternative story ideas as well as the effort you’ve put into creating this video. They could have made this an ongoing community event instead of the meaningless Azerothian Archives.

I was wondering if it was maybe me being bored with WoW that made me quit close to the start of this questline, but now I see that I was right in thinking the quest line was boring as hell.

while I agree with some points, introducing rep-grinds is def a no-no for me. it's enough I gotta farm renown on all my alts individually, I don't want another grind, esp not the old school type. I'd rather spend that time farming mats

Ever since WOTLK ended, the WoW team half-assed everything that has to do with the Alliance. The Worgen and Night Elves life is pure suffering.

Also sad that the fanbase knows how to write/envision a better story conclusion then the actual writers/devs. Gilneas deserved better then a rushed quest to capstone off a rushed expansion.

I don't get why they couldn't just use Forsaken remnants or rebels instead of the Scarlet Crusade. It would make sense; there would still be people loyal to Sylvanas despite all, and I don't doubt for a second that even if there weren't there would be a sizable enough chunk of Forsaken around that still hate Gilneas for that wall, maybe even Gilneans who have been raised into undeath and now refuse to vacate their home. And I absolutely hate -- HATE -- how the Horde and Forsaken command are there to help in what ought to have been a cool, culminating moment for the story of Gilneas. It detracts entirely from the narrative, makes the whole race seem pathetic and weak, and the way Genn just folds to Tess, and how Mia is just willing to work with the same forces which facilitated her son's demise and city's nigh destruction, it's just all so disgusting and disgraceful. They failed so spectacularly, so terrifically, that I actually hope they never touch the zone or race again. I legitimately don't want to see anything else they have planned, and they absolutely cannot convince me to trust that anything they make about it even has a chance to be good without solid, tangible evidence. It is, I think, bar nothing the single worst questline in the game, both on its own and because it serves as the finale of the otherwise excellent Worgen starting zone and the Silverpine Forest questlines. Like, have Belmont go turncoat on the Desolate Council, disgusted at the thought of turning Gilneas over to the Alliance after all that the losses they've incurred to keep it. Make the Horde experience one of subterfuge employing Lillian Voss' skills at being a Rogue, sneaking around and assassinating officers to destabilize Belmont's command structure and observe updated Gilnean battle tactics. Then Alliance get treated to a slaughter where the Worgen roll over like a tidal wave of savagery headed by Packleader Ivar Bloodfang, Darius Crowley, and a Genn nearly lost to berserk rage at seeing the Forsaken still occupying his city, and end it with a cutscene of Belmont getting turned to paste in the grand cathedral. Or even replace Belmont with someone like Godfrey, risen again from death to take bloody vengeance upon Greymane. And even better, have Godfrey do something really nasty like puppeteer Liam's lifeless body in front of Genn before the final showdown to send home just how much of a monster he is, and turn him into an almost satisfactory proxy for a father's vengeance. The rest of the quest can even be the same, the goals just being to defeat or destabilize Godfrey's forces/power structure instead. I'm not lying when I say this: Fanfiction writers could have done a better job for free. They probably have, even, and I just have yet to stumble upon it. I'm disgusted, disappointed at blizzard, at what they think passes for writing, and the worst part of all of this is that they will never, ever, ever change any of it to be any better. Things will only carry on down this route, things will only get worse, which is why I hope they never touch the bloody place again.

Not bad ideas but I can see a lot of people just not even doing this if it had a rep grind a lot of us hate farming rep
