WoD was the worst expansion at the time. But then BfA claimed that title, only to immediately lose it to Shadowlands. In retrospect WoD’s biggest sin was that it was the most content-starved expansion, even before it ended but other than that it wasn’t that bad. May we never get another expansion like Shadowlands.

Funny how humans got most polished zones with highest number of quests but still barrens and darkshore outclass it by good margin in exp/hr.

There’s def so much content to give blizz after they finish hopefully revamping all of eastern kingdoms, Northrend and Kalimdor over these next three expacs. We are about to fight every cosmological heel so definitely a lot of exploration and new forces to war against. With new playable races added to the factions, hopefully player housing and mass revamp, plus all these mini games type stuff they are experimenting with they have all that plus other side of the planet to explore and adventure

Stormwind kingdom zone are the best i did all the quest in both retail and classic and love it

It the definitive questing zone for da Horde ... Cata really fked it all up , vanilla barren was better ..

Remember when I first got into this zone, the transition from Elwyn to Redridge was so mesmerizing to 10 year old me. Only downside is the server I played in had this undead rogue that kept ganking low level players

From a questing perspective, the flow in this zone is so ass. There is never exactly a "right time" to bang out a ton of quests in this zone. Its generally sets of 3-5 before you start facing quests that require you to group with others to knock out due to either the level ranges expanding a bit too fast, or the mob density, or the elite mobs. But besides that, its still a very nostalgic zone. The Alliance starting experience compared to the barrens for the horde has a lot of travel time thrown around, but it gives you a more RPG styled experience imo compared to the horde zones. Quests are more about getting to know the townsfolks backstories, rewards a *lot* more cooking recipes and oddity items, and incentivize you to explore and group with others. its not everyone's cup of tea, its not particularly mine, but there is so many things in Redridge that make it unique and memorable regardless. Class quests, random hidden things, an elite area at the center that feels very cool to go into for the first time as like a mini outdoor dungeon. extensive chains that lead across Elwynn, Stormwind, The Stockades, Deadmines, Dun Murough/Loch Modan, Duskwood, and Westfall. And a little sneak peak at mid to late game content with the Burning Steppes. Very well designed outside of quest pacing tbh

I recently started playing on Argent Dawn - EU, and I was disappointed no RP goes on here, the zone has such untapped RP potential

So many fond memories in this zone! I remember getting my ass whooped by lava imps and scorpions when I accidentally walked into the Burning Steppes

On an unrelated note, i love the soundtrack for this zone. Since when i was a kid i had almost no friends, this song really felt like the theme of loneliness and "prove your worth to the world". Since this zone is so big, you can run long stretches without ever seeing anyone. It's just you, alone, trying to survive and improve yourself in a big harsh enviroment. This is why this zone is iconic!

Even horde players love this zone. Camping here is so fun! Hehehe.

Stitches walking along the road brings a new level of fear in hardcore classic. I lost two characters because of him. The first died to stitches himself. The second died because I ran away from the big guy, right into the worgen ( I was only lvl 20). Good times.

Also sad that the fanbase knows how to write/envision a better story conclusion then the actual writers/devs. Gilneas deserved better then a rushed quest to capstone off a rushed expansion.

See I have no problems with whatever Blizzard is doing because all "lore" after MoP is not canon - it is tasteless fan-fiction just like that Bloodedge the Griffin example you showed. Even MoP was dicey and doesn't feel like old WoW (obviously), but I'll let it slide since it's at least written well and it's fun. But whoever did the lore after that (starting with the insanely braindead time travel of WoD) can swiftly go fuck himself, I ain't listening to none of that.

I still really don't like the Horde and Alliance merging thing that the writers are doing. But your story does definitely feel a lot better than the one we got. Though not sure I would want it as a neutral city. Maybe a Forsaken embassy or something if you really have to push love and hugs between the factions.

while I agree with some points, introducing rep-grinds is def a no-no for me. it's enough I gotta farm renown on all my alts individually, I don't want another grind, esp not the old school type. I'd rather spend that time farming mats

Christ, man, this is incredible. Not only is this leagues beyond what they gave us, but if they actually put this into the game it'd have been one of the best storylines they've ever made. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt the Scarlet Crusade's involvement was out of place. How the hell did they manage to get there before Genn did, after the Forsaken left? And why would the Scarlets be so set on taking a city that they know the Alliance would come for in full force?

Not bad ideas but I can see a lot of people just not even doing this if it had a rep grind a lot of us hate farming rep

I was wondering if it was maybe me being bored with WoW that made me quit close to the start of this questline, but now I see that I was right in thinking the quest line was boring as hell.

Ever since WOTLK ended, the WoW team half-assed everything that has to do with the Alliance. The Worgen and Night Elves life is pure suffering.
