why does everyone complain with seamless tongue tie, its not tongue tied, i totally understand him, he is trying to explain a daw that is the Einstein of all other daws, flstudio is like a programming language, its hard to explain one thing without siding to something else that is important to know at the same time learning the concept of some other thing or function concept.. Good work seamless, i am strictly here not to learn but to keep my producing fire alive because the music that's out there isn't and what's popular will always be popular because its all about lyrics and words over actual beats nowadays..

I can (with your tutorials) set plans on how to train producing (at the moment for example 1 hour piano training because knowing to play the piano can't be bad) and 1 or 2 of your massive tutorials (not the synthesizer). Thanks and as always, have a nice day yourself!

It's not that FL doesn't care about other DAWs rather it's stuck within his own architecture and tries to figure out workarounds for otherwise straightforward standardized solutions in other DAWs with the exception of piano roll where he established his own superior standard.

The problem I, and probably a lot of other people, have with the FL playlist is not that you can't lock a track to specific content, but that you have to manually pair channels, mixer inserts and playlist tracks. Plus, I like to have everything named and colored, which means I have to enter names and change colors 2 or 3 times for each channel/insert/track. Even if a mixer insert will automatically take the name and color from a paired channel, it won't take later changes into account. That's probably my only, but a pretty big issue with FL

TIL: Piano roll options>Select>Magic lasso After you've enabled it you can just circle notes in the piano roll and it will select them. No need to click anything.

Nice tutorial. Btw, you can do more zooming functions using the middle mouse button alone: -double-middle-click (sounds strange, but you get used to it) to zoom/pan (like doing it from the scrollbar) -hold middle click to zoom out far Except for zooming vertically, you can pretty much move/zoom around entirely using the middle button. & the magic lasso is to select stuff by just lassoing them, without clicking anything. But that works better for the piano roll.

The magic lasso tool works without clicking the mouse pointer , so all you need to do to select a specific group of patterns is to move the mouse pointer arround the group to form a closed shape (without clicking) and they will be selected .

Ok so I'm new to FL Studio (And pretty much DAWs altogether) and I've reached a problem. I can't seem to figure out how to separate things in my channel rack into different tracks (e.g. The bassline on 1 track, the beat on another etc..) This is probably a simple process and I might be seen as stupid for asking this question, Lol, but I'm wanting to know how to separate such things. Thanks!

Is there a way to move the tracks up and down by clicking and draging instead of right click and pressing U over and over again when many tracks are used up. I'm not sure where i saw that either from Imagine-Line or this channel and i can't find the video. Hopefully i didn't see that in a dream instead because i've been wanting that feature since forever and got excited about FL12 when i saw it then couldn't figure it out so i'm not sure if it is a feature.

Yeah I looked at your "Bass Antics," wow. You have all these sounds in the one track, each with different effects, you couldn't do that in other DAWs that I know of.
@redditreflections1976
@redditreflections1976 8 жыл бұрын
+TheRCFanatic that's because tracks don't have any control or do anything in FL studio The piano roll and patterns determine the notes / midi etc. and the channel rack is your envelopes instruments samples etc, and the mixer is your effects. I repeat "tracks" in fl studio don't "do" anything. In other DAWS you put an effect on a track, and then everything you put onto that track will have that effect of course you can also process an effect onto a specific audio clip and then not have the effect on the track, but i digress. Yes technically you can put literally every instrument vocal etc all on one "track" but you still have 20-100 things in the channel rack and your still using up 12-100 mixer inputs. In the end it's more work then other DAWS which the track IS the mixer and you simply drag audio / midi data up and down your tracks. FL studio is about being modular instead of being organized, The fact that everything can go onto one track in the playlist isn't a benefit it's a byproduct of the lack of structure, which has both ups and downs. You can still create bass antics in another DAW, chances are it'd be faster and much easier to read, without extra effort put into organizing it. The tracks that seamless has put out for others he has gone back and organized / grouped things, because originally they were a scattered mess that only he understood.
@rcfanatic101
@rcfanatic101 8 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Hanson I agree that FL can become quite disorganized if you don't label things. I usually label things to avoid confusing myself. But, as far as being slower because of that, there are keyboard commands like Ctrl-L, which automatically route a channel to the next free mixer insert. It also renames the insert to whatever plugin patch or sample you're using. And yes, you could create "Bass Antics" in another DAW, but I was talking about how he laid different basses out in the same track, while still being able to automate it's parameters.
@redditreflections1976
@redditreflections1976 8 жыл бұрын
TheRCFanatic I mostly stated you could create bass antics on another DAW as a blanket statement just in case. You got to remember a lot of Seamless's viewers are like 13-17 year olds that are still on the "best DAW bandwagon" saying X DAW is the only daw that can do Y thing. and yeah the keyboard commands do make things faster and automate some parts of labeling. But you do need to know all these shortcuts and how to group etc etc, which is part of why im watching this series to update myself on FL 12, I barely new how to use FL 11, since it's not my primary DAW. but again those shortcuts aren't known by all, and even then you can route everything and set things up, but if you change your mind and want things different it CAN be super easy or it can be a nightmare in FL depending on how things are set up. The freedom comes at a cost since nothing is permanently linked.
