Hey you are doing a great job bringing back my trust for FL Studio as people have shifted my focus by their critics, eg: fruity loops has bad sound whatsoever...thanks because fl studio is the program i started with and i understand it more then the other softwares

Master is for the whole song. You can link instruments by selecting the Instrument you are using at the moment and pressing right-click at "Insert 1" and pressing "Link selected channels" and than "To this track". If you hold SHIFT you can select multiple instruments. Now you can open at the right side of the Mixer the number 1 till 8. In front of one of these number there is a black box with a white arrow pointing down. Press one of these and here you got the "EQUO" and "Fruity Parametic EQ 2".

If you use FL Studio for the first time it is quite annoying to find all those buttons, but at the far right side of the play button there is a text saying "Click to enable online news". Above this text there are 5 buttons (one is like a piano) and 7 buttons (here is a mic, a question mark, a save option etc.). You need the one with 5 buttons. When you press the 5th button the mixer will open. In the Mixer you can select Master, Insert 1, Insert 2, Insert 3 etc.

i like the vid and i am glad to see someone else who actually knows how to use the mixer in fl. you might want to re upload this vid though cause the video is lagging. it takes like 5 seconds to see what you were talking about somethings out of sync
@AcePincter16 жыл бұрын
I do, but only for evaluation purposes, or to counteract the way my headphones play. I don't advise you to make changes to EQ on the master channel unless you are making a mix for a special purpose (for live set or a special speaker setup.

Thanks for all your wonderful videos :o) I'd like to see one on compression and limiting or maybe general mixing/mastering strategies... Those things still mystify me and probably others...

@DJSaschAustralia yep there's an instudio vid somewhere around here. You'd be surprised how few clips he actually uses in his tracks. And Deadmau5 used to use FL but he started using Ableton. Idk why either, I use Ableton on the road and it's basically the same capabilities with a few more intuitive compressors.

I juss learnt that you can use the equo to analyse which frequences to cut & boost.
@byouno9313 жыл бұрын
@aCaramel4U I wouldn't put EQUO on the master. If anything, put the para EQ2 on the master simply to do minor shaping or eliminate useless frequencies

@AcePincter How do you know of something is to loud or low? Also what if your sound is muddy or something low makes the other instruments lower?

So if I'm screwing around with a sample I've selected in edison, how do I apply any tweaks I might make with EQUO directly to the sampled audio and keep said changes in the step sequencer?

@TomboFry14 жыл бұрын
I'd rate this 5 stars but the sound wasn't in sync after a while and i couldn't really understand it much, so i'll have to give it a 4.
@dimmuborgir8215 жыл бұрын
thanks sphincter, no really man i will just put some random instruments into the gaps of a random song and it might sound good. Or you can use your ears and imagination and make a cool song.

so is this what musicians would call mastering??
@majorbrighton11 жыл бұрын
Why try to fill every section with? It's the silence that makes the sound. As in a painting or any good design you need a place to breath. Sounds like you have to fill every hole up for some reason.
@AcePincter16 жыл бұрын
They can say what they want about the sound quality... I've made some damn good mixes that sound better than anything I've heard Reason produce. It's all about how much time you're willing to put in.

well, you dont use fl for as a synth bro... you use it as a sequencer. rewire reason through FL and you'll see how much better it is.

thats because you dont know how to use it. FL isn't really super-producer material, but you can still make masterpieces with it.
