I think the voice actor deserves some praise for nailing this performance so well. It really does show just how bad Dimitri was getting, and how edlegard's betrayal was but the straw that broke the camel's back. The sheer confusion/anger(?) in the "is this a joke?!" Line was not perfect of course. However it does it's job of building up to Dimitri damned near butchering like 5 trained soldiers all at once. I say it's not perfect, only because to me it sounds like his voice cracked slightly on the take they used

@@Jacksonthehedgehog9 the voice cracking could be seen as making it more impact impactful. I mean, in moments of stress, people's voices are more likely to crack like that. To me it's just part of the performance.

As an actor, all I can do is try my best to portray a character as genuinely as I can, and within the instructions of the director. Our preferences and our opinions are going to be different as we are different people. Part of the beauty of art is that it means different things to different people.

El was more injured in both and in the incident of the dagger she didnt even miss, she got his shoulder, WHILE having an unclean shot. unclean as in she was trying to be fast and stealthy about it which realistically couldve screwed up her aim.

@@CupcakeKitten305 she still made zero attempt to ever communicate any of this to dimitri, even after being unmasked. a single "it wasn't me trust me bro" after lying to everyone's faces for the entire school year does not cut it. the flame emperor ruse might not have been entirely her fault, but that the misunderstanding persists after it certainly is; even in crimson flower she acts like there was nothing at all she couldve done and it's all her uncle's fault, when she could've tried to explain things at ANY time.

@@heathersmith4042 Even if she tried to explain things to Dimitri, there is no guarantee that he would understand or believe her. Imagine if something terrible happened and everyone believes YOU are the cause of it. Just because you try to explain what happened doesn't mean they will believe you. If you come out and try to explain and they don't believe you, you would be in a very bad situation. Dimitri goes mad after Edelgard is unmasked; he doesn't even know her reasons. If she just came out and said it wasn't her fault he probably wouldn't believe her and try to kill her. It's a game . There is no need to read into things so deeply. If this happend to you I doubt you would be very understanding and forgiving.
