Awesome, powerful. Moorish Spain (Granada, Cordova, Andalusia) is the traditional origin/home of flamenco brought by wandering Gitanos (Romani gypsy) between the 9th and 14th centuries. The art form captures the elán, passion, and struggles of the Gitanos that’s been adopted overtime and is now synonymous with Spanish culture. These female performers project an aura of feminist strength, assertiveness and determination of character with a touch of passion and sensuousness. Beautiful.

I have seen these performers back then, in my beloved Granada. How many times I've hurried past them, or others, dancing in Plaza Nueva - late for something! And now how this video pulls my heart apart with longing to return there soon. Flamenco swept me up when I was 50. I'm almost 75 now, and still return to study in Granada, which may be the most beautiful place in the world. I say that in the same way that your mother or your child is the most beautiful in the world (whether or not it is objectively true). This video has almost 4 million views... my hopes for all those performers here, that they are safe, and well, and happy! Olé! Viva flamenco!

What??? Antonino kak ty gawarish? This women dancer not smile, beacouse her dance is very hard job in primary school. Pamietam mój pierwszy raz......podczas nauki jazdy konno.

No heaven is a city a kingdom umm Spain is quite beautiful as a country but it’s not heaven! Heaven is greener umm every color from sky to grass is jewel tone! There’s no ending of a day it’s daytime all the time and there’s no sun nor moon cuz the spirit of God surrounds His city! Umm there’s fruit trees there lots of orchards and farmland. Also the homes are quite large umm all of them so like everyone lives nicely there’s no poverty no have and have not because everyone has much and lives comfortably which is nice cuz there’s no unevenness. So it’s peaceful calm umm you live without fear without worry and people are genuine kids go to school and people shop in the markets but there’s no shortages of anything because you always have enough for yourself for your family there’s no need to ration or do without! So it’s quite different very different from earth and life here, I went there six years ago umm came back umm I haven’t been to the abyss yet but I plan on going there next! So stay tuned!

Wow I mean they’re all so incredible in their own ways, I found the first had a lot of sass and some sort of highness to her. The second was very sharp and fiery in her movements! But the third was so expressive in her whole body and face and passion and her musicality, and gosh it felt spiritual almost

It's indebted to Arabic music in part....

@@jean-karimescobarelhijoput3463 The Arabic contribution is very well documented by musicologists. And there is no such thing as "Christian music," unless you mean liturgical music, which did not influence flamenco at all.

It is encouraging to see this intriguing art form preserved. I remember that a flamenco school called something like "Zambra" was founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico when I was grammar school age. It might still be active. I would have liked to have added knowledge of this cultural treasure to ballroom, ballet, and modern dance that I studied.

I love this pure fire in this ... flamenco is more than a style... it is passion, anger, sadness, devotion and emotion.. it’s a way to speak and to express what thoughts you have and what you feel. I love this so much ♥️
