With the release of Michel'le's "Surviving Compton" Biopic on Lifetime, we are bringing back our classic podcast with her. Check out the great biopic and then listen to Michel'le fill in the blanks in her own words.
Michel'le Toussaint was the leading lady of the Ruthless Records empire. Although it was short-lived, the South Central native has stories on end detailing her times with the N.W.A. crew, her relationships with Dr. Dre and Suge Knight, and the voice she didn't realize she had until the second grade.
Michel'le has the singing voice of a goddess, though she speaks entirely different. For the first few years of her life she didn't even talk, but the lonely bus rides she took at 13 resulted in her joyous return trips home after winning multiple talent shows. During our latest Vlad Couch podcast, Michel'le explains the difference between her talking and singing voice and how her exceptionally unique sound sprung a record deal.
During the interview Michel'le also speaks on the N****s With Attitude in great detail, being that she soon began dating Dr. Dre after he tried to get her attention for weeks. Michel'le says they became "very" serious after a short period of time and she "always looked for approval" from him when it came to almost anything since she "didn't talk much."
Listen on as Ms. Toussaint talks about her abusive relationship with her ex-fiance, how she wound up married to Suge Knight, and the infamous Dee Barnes incident before belting out "Let's Play House" A Capella during this classic episode of The Vlad Couch.

I'm going to shed some light on some of you. This girl became famous back in the 80's. that's for some of you who think she's a nobody. Secondly, in 2015, Dr. Dre stated his apologies to any of the women he ever abused in the past. Who is to say she isn't telling the truth? Think about it. She had plenty of interviews back in the day with Dre. of course when you're scared, it takes time to speak up. The way she decided to speak is with a movie, telling her side of the story. Back in the day, nobody gave a fuck if you got beat up by your boyfriend or lover because it wasn't their business. To those of you who are thinking she is trying to come up off of getting beat up by someone who is still currently famous. shame on you. She was already famous before 90 percent of you were even born. So stop trying to shame a woman for telling her side of the story. until Dr. Dre decides to tell his own personal side, that's when everyone can make statements on behalf of Dre. Remind yourselfs that none of you have been inside of her vagina to call her a hoe or to call her a media vulture looking for a come up because y'all wasn't with her when she was living with these men. Show some respect. None of you people commenting are perfect. So stop with the slander against her.

I was a Security Guard and Body Guard for an actress, (Well Known) I shouldn't say her name until she's ready, but i can tell you, There are deals made and sometimes SIDE WAYS threats that make a person evaluate that it isn't worth it, to them, to expose or as the world would view it, "Claim" that you were violated within the Entertainment industry, The fake people are the ones that don't have anything to worry about because they have back up and safe guards, but to the average person, The courts treat you like crap, The only attorneys you can afford will take a bribe in a split second to JUST NOT DO THEIR BEST to defend you, and he end up out of money, less friends (Because they can be bribed to) and it's very difficult, and it takes a lot of courage to speak up, I'll admit that I got jobs and hired because I could be trusted, and I aint no snitch, But what I was was a Peace maker and person that could resolve problems before they escalated. What I want to say is, If you weren't there, You don't know, and I think it's very wrong to judge women, especially, when they say they were hurt or abused. Eventually I'll tell me stories on my website www.BTV.Black and you find me on facebook. facebook.com/stefan.a.lambert and Twitter twitter.com/BTVtelevision

I saw Michel'le in concert when she toured with Hammer. She came out and sang No More Lies. Her performance was less than stellar and she barely made it through the whole song. People started booing and she left the stage. In the interview she stated that she found out she was pregnant while on tour with Hammer. It's so disgusting and disturbing to know Dre was beating on her and hitting her like she was a man. He also constantly cheated on her but he took it to another level. He had the audacity to sit in the audience of her shows with other women. It's so sad and heartbreaking to learn Michel'le was going through it and all the trauma she experienced. Man, Dre is a straight up punk!! He needs to apologize to Michel'le and their son. He also needs to cut Michel'le a check to compensate for all the physical, emotional and psychological abuse he inflicted on her. As well as for the pain and suffering she endured.

One of the things that has always impressed me about Michel'le is that she doesn't try to paint herself in any kind of a artificial light. She owns up to her actions and takes responsibility for her own mistakes while shedding light on her truth. Even when the truth she was telling wasn't flattering in any way, there wasn't malice or bitterness in her words. Brutal honesty, combined with respect and affection. What she has been through would normally make any woman hard and bitter, but she maintained her compassion and dignity. I have nothing but respect for this woman.

I hate Dre for how he treated her. She is really a sweet person. I remember I use to work with her at may company at the fox hills mall and she worked in the men’s dept. People were drawn to her, it was always people at her station, especially guys cause she was so cute, hazel eyes and brown hair. She drew people to her. Sometimes she would sing a verse in the storage room for people and that voice was big cause her normal voice was so tiny. Next thing I knew I didn’t see her no more then I saw her album in the window at the record store in the fox hills mall. She really was sweet just as she is today. Robert Elderman. Please don’t pour your ignorance on other people. If that is how you felt you should’ve kept that to yourself. I look at it like this... If a person says their child looks pretty or handsome, but in all actuality their child isn’t all that good looking.... Are you going to be a heartless and soulless prick and correct them, agree or say nothing? 9 times out 10 your going to agree due to the fact it’s a kid, but in this situation the best reply is none 🙅🏾‍♂️. Did your parents or guardian teach you when to speak and when to 🤐??? (EDIT)... In life we must have obstacles to overcome and in everyday life we are tested to see our strengths and weaknesses. You take from that what you will. My God is good and he has made and is constantly making me a stronger smarter and better person.

If you’ve never been abused you won’t understand. It changes you without any recognition, no chance to say goodbye to the person you once was. I can’t make her story my own, but as a survivor it is hard to speak on your traumas. Abuse is traumatizing. Even after years, you still have scars and memories of the abuse. I hate how y’all make excuses for these “men” and that’s why we take so much time speaking out bc even when we do people still won’t believe you or make you feel worse than the actual abuse. Y’all like making people feel small. It takes courage to speak out, a whole lot of strength to no longer hide your truths. It pisses me off bc you will never know & any survivor hopes you don’t find out. Try saying “I could only imagine” and really try to imagine. Empathy is not hard, but most people lack this characteristic. It’s not my story, not your story, it hers!

I wouldn't say its because of melanin, if that was the case every darker skinned person would look young at a older age and every lighter skinned person would look old at a young age and that just isn't so. Genes is the reason for that. I'm almost 40 years old and when I tell people that they can't believe it say they thought I was around 23.

The greatest compliment I must give her is after so many poor decisions. She learned all her lessons, grew positively from every experience. My 2 cents "Just one more step outgrow the fear, take hold of your health. Be very careful of testing and then you can continue as the compassionate wonderful being/spirit that you are". Bless you

Her youth, naivety and shyness really hampered her career. That saying "don't get your honey where you make your money" applies here. I admire her resilience. She could've easily been a tragedy.
