Flashback: Tyrin Turner on 2Pac Blowing Up During 'Menace II Society' Reading

5 жыл бұрынLast year, Tyrin Turner spoke to VladTV about working on Menace II Society with 2Pac during the rehearsal for the film. Turner explained that 2Pac was frustrated over the lack of background story for Sharif being Muslim, which led to an outburst from the late rapper during a reading.
Tyrin recalled Allen Hughes calling 2Pac a "b***," which led to the two of them stepping outside and 2Pac leaving the movie. To hear more of the story, hit the above clip.

Pac had a problem with getting into character because he was a real actor and that character was not registering with him. I always wanted to know how Sharief was before he was righteous because honestly he was really lame. It would have made more sense if they would have shown him banging and getting into trouble before he converted to Islam, even if it was a small clip.

Vlad is never prepared for the interviews. This is black culture and it means something to us. Clearly it’s just a means to an end for him. Imagine if d.l hugely did a country version of this channel and he barely knew any information or interviewed country artist in this style. Imagine

But Sharif was a minor character tho'. The real question is, why would they make Sharif story integrated, makin' the film longer? Kane addresses Sharif's past at the graduation party. It wasn't 'bout Sharif.

Tyrin Turner was the lead star of the movie and Tupac was not. During the rehearsal reading of Menace II Society, Tupac was calling himself trying to be creative by wanting a background story of why and how his character became an muslim. Apparently the Hughes Brothers and the Screenwriter of the screenplay wasn't going to allow that.

I fucks with Turner but I knew who Pac was before I even knew that Turner even existed Hell the hughes brothers wouldn't even got the money to even do the movie if it wasn't for Pac. New Line Cinema said they would give them money to do menace but only if they had a platinum rapper to cast and they knew one and that rapper was Pac, so really Turner has Pac to thank for getting him the biggest role of his entire career.
