Cadillac CTS Traction Control Light Fixed

This CTS has a Traction control light on an "Service Traction Control" on the Dash. Using my Autel MS906TS and Alldata I will show you how I diagnosted this vehicle and make a sucsessful repair.

Thank you for the tutorial on this issue. I have the some vehicle but a 3.0l. My first thought was the wheel sensors but after viewing this, I was convinced. Using my cheaper code reader, I validated the same codes and ordered a MAF sensor for $80 delivered the next day. Problem solved and I saved a lot of $$$$ avoiding the dealership. Thanks again! I'm a fan!

Agree with your sentiments on Cadillac. Have a 2009 CTS 3600/6/C, Automatic. Severe engine expensive issues. Will never buy another Cadillac. Bought off showroom floor. Single owner. Have invested over 14K in the beast. Have not gotten rid of it because I have to believe it is like buying a new car after servicing and replacement of major parts. Will use as a secondary vehicle. Service Traction and Stabilizer throws it into 2nd gear. I have to reset. This is the latest issue with this crap car.

Thank you I believe this what is wrong with my car , they changed the intake valve . A week later it’s started again service traction control reduced engine power .

Great videos. I have a 2009 Cadillac DTS. The stabilitrak light comes on sporadically. I live in Tucscon, no snow. How do I stop the light from coming on?

09 Cadillac CTS 3,6 have the stabilitrack control light on I check the speed sensors still on next wheel bearings on all 4 but I’m getting a metal like 5x5 sensor others tell me it’s a pump like next to the passenger wheel when u open the hood close to radiator

Great info. thanks. was wondering if you get this maxisys do you have to pay subscription service? I got same caddy as in this video got it for 500.00 but man i got more codes than a book and regular scan tools not doing anything.

When you purchase an Autel tool it comes with 12 months of updates included. Update costs very by tool. If you don't want to pay for updates you can check out the MD808P from Autel.

Hi! I have a question, I was having an issue with my 2010 cts not wanting to stay on after fueling, which I found as a known issue for these models. Each time after fueling the car would crank over multiple times, then die. Typically spend 10-15 minutes stuck at the gas station after fueling. Changed the purge value, now I have no start up issue after fueling, BUT now the cars RPMs are constantly jumping, not a huge jump but the entire time the car is running, in P R N D the rpms raving up then dropping. While in drive with foot off of break and gas pedal the car is rolling then when rpms jump it’s almost like someone is pressing the gas very lightly then letting it go over and over. (Didn’t notice/have this issue before the purge value replacement)

hello ,watching your tutorial i have to say that is weird that the mass air flow sensor has to do with the traction control and stability ,because im having trouble with the track off light coming on every time im driving the car, a Cadillac cts 2005 ,well im going to take the mass air flow sensor and clean it and test it back and if there's any difference and then replace if that`s the case ,i got to say, i never thought of that ,,but thanks good tutorial and let you the results

Never owned a Cadillac in my life and I bought a one year old 09 CTS for my wife and it’s been nothing but the biggest POS I ever had ! Never ever again will I own a Cadillac

hello i have a caddy CTS 2009 2WD , the alternator went ! got that fixed about two days later the fuel pump went! got that fixed , now a week later my partner is driving and it come up 'power reduced' traction light come on and a message on dash saying stabilitrack fault and just completely died in the middle of the road !! i come to her rescue removed battary pos for a few minites reinstalled it and a way it went for about a hour with out any check light it was perfact then it did the same thing but without the stabilitrack fault just the 'power reduce' fault it has a check engine now and wont go away we are to scared to drive it now would you have any ideas what it could be ? awsome video buy the way! really appreciate your help thanks.

Wow, that is a lot going on all at the same time. First question would be what is the MIL code? Second thing I would check is the Alternator again. I have seen where the ripple of the alternator (even if new) was out of spec and it will really mess up the electrical system in a car. I would start there

Once you have your vehicle scanned. Be sure and press your traction control dash button to take pff your traction control. This happened to me . once traction control is off . then you should have full engine power. I was replacing new front wheel bearings one at a time. From home. So it was 3 months turning off my traction control before I got the 2nd front hub replaced . Once new hub was on I also has not only traction control dash light but also Abs light . I put on the old sensor from my left front hub I had in my garage and now NO Codes or lights!! Sometimes the new sensors may be bad . both my old ones were working before I. Aparently the new right hub. Sensor was ok before I eplaced front hubs . so I got lucky. When replacing wheel speed sensors. Be sure they are mounted on clean surface and fully plugged in .

My 07 caddy cts just had the stability control, brake assist and service brake fluid pop up on the screen, right after it got oil sprayed.

On my 03 Cadillac escalades the traction control was coming on and reduced my engine power didn't have any power wht wuld u guys do 2 help it

First you need to use a diagnostic tool to scan the vehicle. Like this one kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7icppST3sC1gIk.html. From there I can help determine what the problem may be.

Hi , I have a question. I have a Cadillac CTS 2007 and it recently out of nowhere it appear on the dashboard the Tc light and the anti lock . When I turn of the car they key gets stock it don’t gives it to me .I also notice that the gas gauge and temperature gauge stay at the bottom they don’t go up and also i try to unlock the door from outside the car but some doors get lock and others don’t . The car turns on and drives

It sounds like you have body control module issues. I would put a scan tool on the vehicle and see if you have communication codes.

My 2006 CTS has the TC light come on and the ABS with the brake assist flashing on the screen. The check engine light is on top of course. I can’t get anyone to fix it. The TC button does nothing. Doesn’t turn it off or on. Could this possibly be the issue??

Chad my 03 cts is having traction control problems its locked up will not push back and reverse will move it lve rocked it back and forth in neutral its stuck will not move l can go forward in drive but you can it's working hard to move the car .help please

I would suggest raising the car up in the are and putting it in neutral, then try to spin each wheel. I think you have a brake caliper hanging up, not a traction control issue.

I could take care of all your problems you got a short in your wiring that runs underneath the driver's front seat under the carpet under the padding all those wires got wet dried All Out start the car up every cold will disappear or be like new

Any of your local parts stores sell them and you can also get them from your Cornwell or modile tool dealer.

My go to tool is the MS906TS. I like the size, speed, and it does it all from diagnostics, to TPMS, to Service Functions

The unit I am using is an MS906TS. It retails for $2195 in the US. Check with your local tool supplier or parts store for pricing in your area.

That's a pretty broad question. Some body control modules have to pe programmed with J2534 some can coded to the PCM, some can be replaced with As Built Data. Your local Auto Electrical shop should be able to do that function or if you can find a mobile tech that specializes in programming they can come to you and to that job.

OK thanks! My BCM has a corroded pin that is very short because most fell off. I bridged the gap with aluminum foil. Bought a used BCM on Ebay with all same numbers,etc. Everything works except car wont start.Took out fuses,unhooked battery for a while,etc. Just curious if I could have the used part matched to my car?

You will need to relearn the key to the vehicle. Some vehicles you can program keys without a scan tool. Some vehicles require a scan tool and/or locksmith passcode

Any of the Autel tools will work on your Honda CRV. They work on 1996 and newer.

I got a 2004 Cadillac cts I put in 4,000 to fix it I purchased it for 2,500 my boyfriend put on back brake pads and fronts why is traction control light on and ABC light on after I put all new brakes and brake lines and rear differential and wheel bearing and caliper and power steering hose and 2 catalytic converters and transmission cooler lines and radiator and new axle seals now what and tires this car is evil I just got this 4mos ago

U0100 is a pretty general code buy it can lead you in the right diagnostic direction. First off you need to figure out why you have not communication with that module. Is it a wiring issue, power issue, ground issue. Once you have verified that all of the wiring is good and you have all of you powers and grounds they I would start looking at the module being bad.

I look at Cadillac as the test pool for GM. GM will try all kinds of crazy stuff on a Cadillac to see it works and if it holds up... Most of the time it doesn't.
