I followed the instructions in this video. I placed the Dawn in a 2 gallon sprayer and sprayed my rocked yard. I believe this did work in killing off the ticks. However, I put the baking soda down as a barrier outside our fence and some inside our fence and around a large bush where our dogs have access. With that said my large German Shepherd got into some of the baking soda. It wasn’t long before she began vomiting and then bloating with explosive diarrhea with very loud hard gas. She has been in distress for two days now hopefully she is getting over this. On further research I discovered that baking soda is toxic to dogs and if they ingest enough of it this can actually kill them. No one is to blame here as I simply didn’t do my research before laying down these materials. I am posting this as a warning in the hope that no one with have to go through this mistake as my precious pup and I have had to.

Yes, I mentioned in the video to wash away the dawn after 6-8 hours completely and do do not let pets in area during process I also mentioned to keep the baking soda on the outside perimeter of the fence for barrier. Good Luck God bless Works for me 😇

Investgate your dogs blood line. Ive used this method for over 40 years and never have i ever had a problem. My great grandmother taught me this gardeners hack in the early 1980's.

Went to the dollar store and spent $30 on Dawn soap. I applied it differently by just squirting it all over the yard then applied plenty of water. Then for the concrete on and around the patio, mixed it up and sprayed everything till it was totally wet. Then I bathed my dog in it after I cleaned all the floors and treated her bedding. It worked! Walked into the grass this morning to get the paper, and no fleas covered my legs like before. I actually think these were sand fleas. But I had a horrible infestation of them. I also had to spray the inside of my garage. Anyway, a lot cheaper than the $100 the pest control company wanted. Thanks so much for this video!! I won’t hesitate to do it again if needed.

I am so glad this helped you ... pest control where I live averages $356.00 or higher a month for service any lawn over 15,000 square feet (but covers bugs and and rodents) . I say absurd. Pine sol and dawn works great too. Make mixture equal parts and add water..I put it in a spray bottle that attaches to hose and start spraying.. it worked great and fleas were gone..

I live in Waverly. This has been the WORST year for ticks. It's May, and my husband has had 5 on him already. My dog had one, and so did I. I have never had one on me. This is crazy.

It is a very good idea however, dish soap has antibacterial properties, killing also good bacteria on the soil. I would use Castile or baby shampoo soaps, the baby shampoo from Walmart Equate is very cheap and I would mix in a sprayer that you connect to a hose. Thanks!

Whenever you will put backing soda, your grass definitely will dye. Backing soda will kill anything. This is good DIY to get rid of moss and grass in concrete. Doubt about the soup on grass.

Good morning! My fur baby Melis Tulip passed away because of a tick bite😭😭 last year. She was a 5 pound Maltese and we tried everything to save her, $13,000 hospital bill which we will be paying for years to come. You may have to apply a heavy application and leave it for a day then wash away . The process is simple and cheap you choke them out or dead with the dawn (they cannot breath cause of the soap ) . Apply a real thick foamy layer and let it sit 24 hours ... when you wash it away they should be gone or dead reapply if you see more. When i did my lawn I had fleas ,Ticks , and other insects when I washed it away they where all gone or dead . My lawn took a beating from the dawn so do not leave it there like I did wash the soap off and away when 24 hours is done ( or it will also choke your lawn). Works for me God bless.

wrong . dawn platinum is just a more concentrated version of regular dawn . There is nothing in the soap that is killing the flea that is poison . The reason dawn works is because it smothers the flea and they die from a lack of O2 and not from poison . Dawn , Ajax (is the best of the best flea soaps) all degreaser soap works the same for fleas . What it does is coat the flea so it cannot jump out of the solution and it also smothers them dead while doing it. There is nothing toxic about dawn that kills fleas .. It is just the lack of oxygen that lets the soap kill the flea . Dawn is great on bathing a dog free of fleas but not instantly . you want to coat the dog with dawn( or Ajax dollar store soap) leave that soap on the dog for 4 -8 minutes before rinsing . you have to give the soap time to smother the fleas and while you will wash off fleas with dawn with an instant wash you will not remove the egg sacks unless you leave the soap on the skin until it removes the stickiness of the egg sacks. that takes about 5 minutes. There is almost no difference between which degreaser you can use on dogs though. Platinum or generic it all removes fleas.

Ortho home defense works very well but you must suit up , gloves, goggles , mask, get a 1 gallon sprayer, etc ... or you can use a a hose sprayer with dawn and spray down the tree let sit thirty minutes then 👉completely wash off the dawn on the tree and on ground around tree too or it will damage or👀 kill tree if you do not remove it all👀 especially depending on what type of tree it is 😇

Try this method (saturate) on the cement also and border with the baking soda (chokes them dead or makes them runaway run away so cheap to use)- Works for me God bless

Baking Soda will change the PH of your lawn. When I was a lifeguard we use to put a form of baking soda into the pool to raise alkalinity. High alkalinity will feel like acid burning you. Not sure if Baking Soda will reach that level.

Do not put in a pressure washer until you call the manufacturer. They will tell you if it is okay or not okay with detergent . Their chemicals for there brand are made specifically for their machine. So either do it like I showed on the video or call your power washer manufacture. Works for me God bless

yeah the best way is to treat your dog . the dog kills the fleas in the house when it is treated with Simparica or Bravecto . But in truth the best thing you can do in your house is Ortho home defense indoor . Spray it around the edges of the house and it kills all indoor bugs including fleas. But if you treat the dog with modern flea treatments that are popular it will kill them off in your home. I know there is a click of people who are anti topical treatments like Frontline and others and the family but those people are morons. Parasites are more dangerous to a dogs health than any flea and tick treatment. you want the BEST flea and tick control you buy Simparica. Not Simparica Trio plain Simparica . Do not give it every month like they instruct .. We have found that that stuff works for months per dose and there is no need to give it monthly . A pill every 3 months works and they will never get a tick or flea again. i gave this stuff to my dogs since it came out and my oldest basset lived to 20 on it. it is not killing dogs. USE IT ! you will never regret it.

This will suffocate the fleas and ticks you can soak the lawn to wash away the soap after 6 hours then apply Armor Soda on the border. Internet says this: Dish soap contains surfactants which will dry out and kill grass. Although dish soap sounds attractive as an affordable DIY hack, it is not recommended. Most dish soaps will not only kill insects and weeds but also the grass itself. Insecticidal soap is a much safer alternative. ///// That is why some people need to wash away the method I use after 6 hours . The Dawn did not effect my Bermuda (other grasses I do not Know ) that bad and got rid of fleas and ticks in one treatment. Try a small area for a day see what it does to grass. Rain . garden house water, but if you are putting it down as a barrier as I showed in the video then you do not want to wash it away. That is what makes them go another direction as stated on the video. Works for me God bless

You can but it can get a little soupy - you have to apply light coats maybe 3 times to saturate the area instead of one big soaking. Works for me and always God bless

It is a mite should work great let soak for 8 hours before washing away to save lawn 😇 or ..... try How do you kill mange in your yard? Purchase a residual insecticide from the hardware or pet store. The insecticide should contain the ingredient permethrin.

Yes be careful :Detergents can have poisonous effects in all types of aquatic life if they are present in sufficient quantities, and this includes the biodegradable detergents. All detergents destroy the external mucus layers that protect the fish from bacteria and parasites; plus they can cause severe damage to the gills.

No , but you can mix water and the dawn soap and spray the lawn .... then remove after 4 - 6 hours (rinse away) ------the baking soda is to make a thin border on your perimeter for those fleas and ticks on the outside that want to come in. works for me God bless😇

I did half an acre and still had dawn left over ... then after 6 hours I washed it away. The process is to suffocate the fleas and ticks. But make sure you wash it away cause it can suffocate your lawn too. Way 💲cheaper and not poisoness than the expensive poisoness chemicals you would have to buy at store. One subscriber asked a similar question which may be the base of yours. How do I apply this easily . Put a half and half mix in the sprayer and move fast that's a lot of foam .. do not forget to wash it out after 6 hours or it will suffocate your lawn too.. also apply at the cool times of day dawn will burn your lawn too right now.. Good luck God bless Works for me😇

Borax is a compound used to make glass, and is found in many cleaning products. If ingested, borax can cause stomach upset and irritation in pets. In high doses, it can even cause injury to the kidneys.Apr 26, 2017 baking soda is not good either but is less toxic than borax either way make sure it is 10 feet away from outside fence line 😇

After application about six hours you should was it away from your lawn even sooner if a strong sun day. Once you have done application and removal .... all fleas and ticks should have suffocated and died including eggs . works for me God bless😇

Yes it may damage the grass so do it a evening right before sunset then wash away 4 - 6 hours later to minimize the lawn from being suffocated like the ticks and fleas are to kill them. Works for me God bless

Hose or sprinklers just to lighten up the dawn for you are chocking the ticks and fleas and killing eggs . Your saturation amount of dawn depends on how infested your lawn is . I recommend a sprayer that is controlled like this one ... H.D. At that time it is dallis grass with msma target 6 on it ... this took 7 heavy applications to remove it .... and little ones still show up today ,,, a very South American invasive grass😇 it has nothing to do with this application for fleas and ticks

Dawn dish soap kills fleas in two ways. The first way is that it strips the fleas of their wax coat making their exoskeletons vulnerable. The second way dish soap is effective at killing fleas is that it changes the surface tension of water they drown.
