Fleece/Sherpa Blanket: Beginner's Sewing Tutorial - Part 2: The Sewing
Hi, My name is Naomi and I am the creator of a company called 2 And Or 4 (www.2andor4.com) who makes products for your 2 legged loved ones and your 4 legged loved ones.
This is a Beginner’s Sewing Tutorial. It is easy to make a simple two-sided blanket. Whether you are making a smaller stroller or pet bed sized or a larger blanket - the techniques are the same. I used fleece on one side and sherpa on the other, but you can use whatever combination of fabrics you would like: all fleece, fleece and flannel, etc.
In this video which is Part 2 of 2 we will sew the blanket. I used a sewing machine to sew this blanket together.

1 Yard of Fleece will yield 2 blankets*** (Cut size: approximately 29-30” Wide X35” Long)
1 Yard of Sherpa will yield 2 blankets*** (Cut size: approximately 29-30” Wide X35” Long)

Hi Linda - thank you for watching and commenting. I purchased my Sherpa fabric at Joann's BUT only when it was 50-60% off. Otherwise, I find the prices way too high!

What brand needles do you find do best?

I use BALL Points 90/14 for Sherpa and Fleece since they are technically knits,. I use Schmetz, Groz or Organ brand needles. Some machines are particular about which brand (thankfully, my machine seems to take them all). Regardless of what brand you use, change your needle often (every 6 to 8 hours of sewing time) since a new needle can make a difference on how your machine sews! P.S. It seems Schmetz came out with a needle for Fleece fabric but I have not tried it yet.
