The FDNY Special Operations Command Compressor Unit Responds on Major Matrix Assignments which involve anything involving Building Collapses, Trench Rescues, Major Train Derailments, Plane Crashes and anything of the Incident Commanders discretion. It is manned by 1 Rescue Operations Firefighter. Main purpose is to supply the Con Edison Vac Truck with Vac Hose for a collapses. They will suck up the debris to get to a victim that may be buried. The Compressor is the Supply Jack Hammers, Air Knife, and other Heavy Construction Equipment via 2 100' reels on each side of the rig. SOC Compressor is also assigned on Pro Longed Dewatering Operations and will assist Dewatering Unit and TAC Unit at the scene.
