As a longtime Patriots fan, Drew Bledsoe was a great player, and his professionalism and sacrifice has always been appreciated. He will never be forgotten, he helped bring the Patriots from the worst team to the super bowl. His coming back to relieve Brady when he got injured and getting us into the super bowl and doing his job. He may never get to be the #1 guy on a super bowl winning team, but he'll always be remembered as a top tier human being, and the guy that helped build the stage that let Brady shine.

Actually had Bledsoe continue to keep up with mediocre performance, Brady likely would have gotten a shot sooner or later even with the contract. It was forgotten that Brady outperformed Bledsoe in the preseason and the guy rose in the depth chart to become the number 2 QB before the season began. I have been telling people this is exactly what happened to Carson Wentz. You can’t tell me Wentz was happy that Nick Foles took that great Eagles team and won the Super Bowl he feels was his for the taking. I believe it completely shattered his confidence and soured his relationship with the team. Not to mention he got hurt again the following season and Foles came to the rescue and led the team back to the playoffs and another postseason win. Different player, same story for Wentz when compared to Bledsoe. Except Wentz was never as good as Drew Bledsoe in my opinion.

I was a Buffalo Bills fan in the early 2000s when Bledsoe was signed by them, and having him was heartbreaking. Bledsoe was definitely a better QB on paper than anyone the Bills had since Kelly, but it didn't end well. The first season he was there started out well and they were 5-3, he was lighting things up. He came back to planet earth and they finished 8-8. He didn't play well the next two years and they let him go in favor of JP Losman of all people. He went to Dallas and quickly played himself out of the league when Romo emerged. Bledsoe always looked like he should have been good but it never really materialized.

If it wasn’t for the Ryan Leaf/Peyton Manning draft when teams struggled to pick between the two and Leaf eventually bombing, the Rick Mirer/Drew Bledsoe would be the controversial draft everyone would remember. Nobody could decide who should go first overall and both were seen as future superstars. Well we all know how Mirer turned out. The fact he had those awful Seattle O-lines his first few years probably had a lot to do with it. Bledsoe was one of the most talented and gifted players the NFL has ever seen. He had a huge cannon for an arm. He had several holes in his game though. He seemed to be a better version of Jeff George without the ego. I watched Bledsoe throughout the 90’s and he had a great long passing game but his decision making and scrambling abilities were glaring problems. Great qb’s like Brady, Manning, Starr, Aikmen, Largent, Young and Montana were the best at reading a defense and attacking its weakness. Bledsoe wasn’t able to figure that out. If it wasn’t for his natural athletic ability and an accurate cannon for an arm, he would have been just another meh quarterback.

i feel like he was a tad overrated to be honest.. i watched him in the 90s just like everyone else and the thing he lacked was pocket awareness.. he was lke a statue out there.. and when he played for my cowboys he was a sitting duck in the pocket.. if it wasnt blocked perfectly he was getting sacked... and then romo came in on that monday night game against the giants, we lost that game but you could tell that romo was going to be the guy from that point on. romo could move around duck and dodge ppl and get outside the pocket.. bledsoe had no elusiveness to his game.. and that wasnt due to his age, he was like that in the 90s as well

@@eclectica1 fair, I think for Belichick drew was 1 expensive. 2 while his style was great, BB knew his forte was defense and he would rather be served by consistency and time management offense with Brady and let his defense do the majority of the heavy lifting. 3. Letting drew walk freed cap for other signings and Brady at the time was probably more willing to keep quiet and march to BB orders and so he was easier to control since he was still the kid who BB have a shot. After brady won that SB as the starter it was over for drew in NE. Drew was a great QB in his own right no doubt but the NFL and BB are brutal. @@launchbase4944 yup BB all defense all day. As of now, I’m starting to put BB in the same vein as Greg Popovich, arguably with very good case for being the greatest coaches of their time and arguable in their professional sports history but they seem to suffer personality flaws and arrogance, but they managed to find an ideal situation with management and owners that would stay out of the way and give them plenty of leeway and coupled with a true superstar either the GOAT Tom Brady or top 5-10 Tim Duncan who were humble enough to set the tone, being the loyal soldier and do what was needed and set the culture for other players to follow. We are unlikely to see that again, that’s okay but we should look back at the dominance and greatness achieved and appreciate it. Will other coaches match Pops 5? Maybe, probably the NBA has more dynastic teams, but unlikely to enjoy the same decades of excellence like we saw pop and TD enjoy in the NBA. We will also never likely see the equal accomplishment of BB and TB ever be equalled either as a team or an individual.

I watched the man in the arena and personally the whole doc gave me a lot of emotions. I especially felt for Drew Bledsoe. He was clearly hurt, unable to finish some sentences when talking about the situation. It was hard to watch

Another masterfully made video, sir. Well done, indeed. I too find it a little sad how most people don't remember Drew Bledsoe for being as awesome as he actually was. I hope he sees your video. May just make him feel a little better knowing that some people still remember

Love Drew. Solid player, I’ll always appreciate him as a Pats fan, and he seems like a really classy and nice guy. Plus he’s the only Pats QB my mom has ever liked, so he has that going for him.

Bruh. Love your content. Have loved it for a few years now! I don’t remember which video was the first one I watched from you, but I love your stuff. I don’t know if you have to push a button for it, and I’m glad you’re getting money, but there were multiple unskippable commercials on here. I don’t know if you can fix it, or even want to, but kinda hurt the experience.

Ive always wonder had Bledsoe not had the freak injury in 2001 losing starting job to Tom would he have led the Patriots to those three SBs in 02, 04 and 05. It’s easy to say yeah but we would never know very interesting argument.

Theres a children's book called "It's not going to get better when you grow up." By Drew Bledsoe. Not this Drew Bledsoe but the title of the book and the name of the author being a coincidence is funny in a dark way.

Drew Bledsoe was the jersey I would see most in my hometown before his injury that led to Tom Brady's opportunity. Keep in mind I live on the opposite side of the country. He was an excellent player.
