@Maximus Campbell no. Wendigos are spirits who posses people who eat human flesh. I bet some people liked the taste but didnt want to harm people so they tried to resist the wendigos control

@@ZinxTheSlayer Doesn't matter, it could be out of pleasure or out of desperation. Hell, it doesn't even need to be cannibalism that causes the wendigo spirit to possess them. It just has to be any sort of act that causes the person to lose their innocence and the strength of their spirit to waver. The Wendigo myth is essentially a warning to anyone who feels compelled to do any immoral or inhumane acts, whether out of desperation, pleasure, or curiosity.

Advanced description of The Wendigo Basically a person eats the flesh of another human during winter out of desperation at first, then it changes to greed as they continue, and they proceed to then become more and more solitary until they become a hermit, they slowly move into the woods, and then become primitive and hostile becoming hungrier and hungrier until they kill and eat anything they get their claws on out of pure greed, their heart eventually turns to ice and this makes them vulnerable to fire. It also has supernatural abilities like voice imitation, hard skin, and makes all animals go quiet when entering the aria. Also when they find a target, unless they find a new target they will continue to hunt the target until it either is out of range or dies, animals will act as a distraction for a while. This may not be the most accurate description, but this is the way I see them at the moment. Do to the fact they are technically still human... they are likely vulnerable to the coronavirus, since it thrives in their body temperature, so, the wendigo likely won’t be as common as usual or as tough because of this virus, lol

Doesn't have to just be cannibalism, nor does it have to be out of desperation either. It can be any sort of immoral or inhumane act, or it could just be someone losing hope, whatever causes their spirit to falter or be tainted. That's how the Wendigo spirit manages to take control of them. At that point, whoever is possessed by the wendigo's spirit will become more agitated and hostile towards others, they will slowly become hungrier over time, and they may even become more selfish or unkind as well. The point where they finally lose it and turn into a monster is when the hunger they suffer from becomes so unbearable, they lose their minds out of desperation of wanting to satiate it to no avail. What could have originally been desperation or pleasure is now instinct to them. Any amount of flesh to them is food, and nothing will convince them otherwise. Over time, their form will change to accommodate their hunger and the amount of flesh they've consumed, and they will continue to lose their humanity, their spirit will become more tainted and dead, until all that's left is the wendigo's spirit. Eventually, they essentially become a mindless animal that only wishes to satiate its hunger. That's how the stories go. Whether the wendigo is real doesn't matter, it's the myth itself that does. It's suppose to act as a lesson and a warning.

I usually listen to these stories at night at bed time but today around 3pm folding laundry. I live in California bay area and it's mandatory stay at home. It is so wired not seeing people out and about like it's a ghost town. I counted 10 cars that past today. Usually it's way more than that all day long car's driving back and forth and I live on a through back street. Plus the corner store is down the street that is why I get more people driving by than most other street's.

Josh Glover Well you are correct to a degree. You are forgetting however that this has between a 1 and 2 percent death rate and the regular flu has about a .1 percent death rate. Why does that matter you ask, well a few years ago the flu was so widespread that it over ran the hospitals. That caused the death rate to jump to almost 10 percent. People that wouldn’t have died in normal circumstances died because hospitals were overrun. That caused people to not get treated. The coronavirus is much more contagious and 10x as deadly. Now imagine those circumstances and the possibility of the coronavirus having a 20+ percent death rate. That’s why people are worried. Get ahold of it now and there won’t be an issue, wait and it becomes a plague.

I wondered the same. I've got 2 theories 1) Traumatic events cause everything around them to be lasting memories Or 2) They remembered the gist of the dialogue and improvised what was written for the sake of getting the point across and adding ambience and build up.

But people having that kind of recall when they are scared is one thing but the mundane stuff before they see/feel wierd things...i dont buy it. But during s traumatizing event....when my dad phoned me at 4:18 a.m. to let me know my brother died. I remember everything. I remember what and who I was dreaming about.

I had to pause the video after the 2-part story concluded. Anybody else think the description of the creature matches a few home videos bouncing around KZfaq showing these things on roof tops & the woods? New species? Genetic experiment? Does it already have a name? Whatever it is, I’m leaning towards spooked.

Odyssey Of Buck O’Five yess and all those videos showing the creature are so legitimate looking it’s crazy particularly the one during daytime in Mexico? South America? He is panning the camera from right to left over his backyard there was construction work being done on pool and backyard area then he hears the noise and pans the camera to the roof and the pink creature is there shocked for a few seconds then runs/crawls away but not before it slips on the roof tile losing its footing (I always lol at that) plus another one seen on roof here in the US is also decently convincing but the South America roof creature is just too real and convincing (without it trying to be) that I have no doubts that that is the real deal

@@hAckAbleMe Win is right. If it can bleed it can die. Something bipedal that targets humans..Start with a .308 caliber and go up. Shotgun and handgun aren't as reliable. Rifle is easier to use and will get the job done. A shot gun would only work if using slugs. 00 buck shot could work, but being as the target is unknown going with a large caliber rifle round such as a .308 is the most logical approach.

@@hAckAbleMe i would personally want a rifle at least 30 caliber at least 3200 fps with expanding ballistic tip bullets. A .308 doesn't have enough velocity to make me feel good about stopping an unnatural threat. A 7mm mag or .300 wsm would do nicely. It will hit like thor's hammer and blast tissue and bone apart, sending a hydrostatic shock through the body. Even something unnatural that's immune to simple vital organ damage would be devastated by a couple hits from it. All fluids would rupture their vessels, bones would be splinters, organs would be liquefied. A velocity well over 3000 fps does extreme damage to a creature's entire system in a way punching a hole through it can't.

Being I like big foot stories I like the last storey the Best. All of them are good. I usually listen to these stories at night at bed time. I live in California bay area everything is shut down because of the coronavirious! Mandatory stay home most every store is closed or they close doors at 6pm. It is so wired to see no one out and about like a ghost town being there is a lot of people that live in this town and there are many town's that are right next to each other if your not from here you wouldn't know if you cross over into the next town.

Was suprised at how sorry I felt for the wendigo tbh. Poor basdard is forced to hurt people against his will essentially. Can't imagine the torment that would come with that existence.

Story 1: "We were all ok." Except for the Wendigo. I feel so sad for him 😖. It makes me wonder that if the first story is true, he's still fighting against its control as he had for it sounds like 6 YEARS during the time of these experiences. Or if...he finally succumbed. And if so, that makes it even more heartbreaking. I can't imagine how alone he feels and the torment he's suffering...

I went on a camping trip for spring break and I saw a deer. He was very mangy looking, as if he had survived a very brutal bear attack and he could stand on two legs.....wait a minute. 😨 Saying it out loud, it doesn’t sound very normal now.

Up at my grams and paps there was a case of mange that got its way into a coyote pack, that was quite the scare

Yikes!!! That is scary. On my camping trip, I could hear coyotes howling on and on all night every night. At least I hope they were just coyotes.

I submitted a skin walker story way back, know it's a bit different but similar spirit, and I had another encounter with the same one after 20 years, I'm almost positive it was the same one, think I'll submit it. Also had another encounter with one...thing is I moved and idk if this is a new one or not but I have 2 stories to submit, hopefully they'll make it in! Love the longer uploads.

Love wendigo encounters, i have studied anr compared folklore and have scottish highland folklore cryptids and american cryptids are almost identical apart from we have no wendigo or similar....

lorraine it’s quite possible that, if they were real, cryptids could migrate. Just as nomadic humans and other animals will travel and have historically travelled vast distances in order to survive, it’s quite possible that could be applied to some cryptids if they existed (I cannot say what do and do not exist, so I just say that I don’t disbelieve in some and am open to their existence, but I cannot confirm their existence either). Especially when it comes to creatures that are quite large. Werewolves, wolf men, Bigfoot, etc. they’d require a large amount of land or an over abundance of food in order to survive. If we were to apply some real world logic/science behind it as well such as animals of similar size that exist today or have existed. Sorry for the long response. I didn’t mean to talk your ear off. It’s just something that interests me is all.

The 3 part story was so vivid I could see every bit of it and I felt like I was watching a movie! Kinda like IT or something, but better. I love the legend of the Wendigo and I fully believe that they could be real

I was in the woods smoking pot and drinking a little bit when me and my friend Josh decided we should go down the hill we were on (having a fire) to go get a chair from a place called Phoenix fruit farms that I was layed off from and decided as I was still upset to go and get a half broken chair from my break time smoke spot and a bright light came from behind us in the sky lit up the ground around us enough to make shadows and it went slightly down shot back up and disappeared like when something gets so small it can't be seen, I asked josh if it just happend and he said you saw that too, I can post videos of the place I saw it for anyone who wants it, I didn't make this up it happend for a bout 5 seconds total and all things like planes helicopters drones make noise this light was silent and came from above and it moved laterally so I'm stumped if anyone in Massachusetts has seen somthing like this let me know

This is my favorite horror story by a long shot I do remember this one story though, it isn't nearly as horrific but it's so perfectly detailed and a great display of story telling, I still try to find it when I watch these videos

This is very interesting. These stories sound almost real. I am not diminishing the story's or experiences of others. But I do not believe that it was a wendigo. Partly due to wendigos being cryptids but also due to the lore of the wendigo. Most of the wendigos victims are either killed outright or taken to be kept alive for winters. Wendigos, at least not in my research simply taunt. I guess my point being. If the wendigo has you in its sights you're dead where you stand. I could be entirely wrong though. Anyway great video. Sleep deprivation drove me to make this comment.
