this song cuts deep.. loving your ex is the hardest thing ever. No matter how good of terms you are on with them, having "casual" sex is mentally draining afterward. You truly think it's gonna be fun and harmless till it becomes intimate and you're cuddling and wishing the whole thing never ended in the first place, wishing you could lay in their arms forever and the pain never existed. The pain hits you the hardest the second they leave or you leave and you realize how weak you are for them. Sorry about the rant but this song is just so good and extremely relatable, beautiful work Fletcher.

I wonder, purely speculating here, if their splitting has anything to do with the idea that they both want to pilot the plane and neither is prepared to assume position as passenger. Kinda seems, imo, to have been the issue with ShaCam as well. There's no way Fletcher is about to hit the brakes on her Journey, nor should she, and I don't see Shannon tailing behind or staying home and conforming accordingly. If it's meant to be they'll circle back around to each other (and all the stronger for it)!

Strangely Familiar hmm i can see it. but from what ive heard in one of fletcher’s interviews, she’s still struggling to find her identity & self love?? Which makes sense with shannon’s letter to her. Also, maybe she’s stressing too much about her career, it’s a lot of pressure on her. Idk english is not my first language so i couldnt really comprehend fully what’s going on. I hope they’d be able to figure things out cuz it seems like they are still into each other. Cari is still wearing the bee (shan bee) necklace lately so i dont think she’s trying to move on. Not gonna lie, im still hopeful for a come back but not too soon. unless one dates someone quickly just like what happened with shacam. but with shacam, i feel like cam just fell out of love of shannon. it’s different from what im seeing from fletcher. but who knows, we can only assume & speculate.

Niamh Anderson obviously no one knows for sure but them, but they could mean the whole time in quarantine together, the whole time making these music videos, or even since Fletcher’s last ep since it was titled “you ruined New York for me” and here she says “I just had sex with my ex in a New York apartment”. I guess that was why she had no regrets. Shannon gave the relationship everything she had so when she gave that hard drive of these to Fletcher it was really her goodbye. Her dating some new immediately after is obviously a coping mechanism she had to address with her therapist though. But all these art post breakup and that podcast after everything they've gone through is like a masterclass on forgiveness and letting go.

This is the epitome of 21st century lesbian angst and I love it. I came of age in the later half of the 20th century and had Melissa Ethridge to excite and console my lesbian psyche. I'm so glad that FLETCHER has that same talent, only in a more open and honest manner. Only women loving women can write with this much passion, heartache, and strength of conviction. Women who love men can't do it. Don't get me wrong I love me some Carole King and Carly Simon but it's just not the same.
