I wouldn´t say he was ahead of the competition in terms of mass/development of the body. But the roundness of his muscles gave him an almost unbeatable look of a bodybuilding cartoon. The only problem was that Coleman´s muscles were very round aswell, and bigger....

he had a great physique that he ruined later on in his career and never worked hard enough to compete properly shredded like his competition. Unbeatable physique? oh please. It could've been but that's projection, as he was, his physique was definitely beatable and that's translated in his placings.

the good ole days, levrone was training at our gym, he asked me if i had any ideas f o r a posing song. he was really impressive in person, nice fella though. i never bothered him though. he came backstage and congratulated my brother when won the Maryland in 93. i miss those days very much. 58 now still hittin it. kevin was doing lying leg curls one day and they looked like quarter horse hams , race horse , it was hard to comprehend how huge and separated they were. he looked like was around 280 imo, it was the best i ever seen his legs. i forget what year it was, but he trained at our gym the POWERHOUSE GYM in linthicum Md.

Flex should have one a couple of Olympias at least. He looks how people actually dream of looking. Few strive, or dream about having a bubble gut. Damn "mass monsters" look like pregnant ninja turtles. Even Ronny and his gut was out of control at times. Mass monsters set bodybuilding back atleast a decade, maybe more.
@dj_m19
@dj_m19 2 жыл бұрын
neither Yates nor Coleman had bubble guts in 1993, 1998 and 1999. Far from it. Flex was small and soft, no amount of abs was going to change it. Bodybuilding is a sport of rules and has distinct judging criteria, who you as a viewer would rather look like IS IRRELEVANT. I also would look like Flex rather than look like Ronnie or Yates but I'm not ignorant and arrogant enough to claim that Flex ever deserved to beat them. 1993 Yates and 1999 Ronnie is greatness at its peak, 2 best versions of 2 best bodybuilders to ever live.

Back in the day you had to have a nice watch, gold bracelet, thick gold chain around the neck and a couple of rings on your fingers to make it right. And don't forget the expensive shoes as well. Those were the unspoken rules back then and one more thing...you had to be a member of the 405-bench club minimum just to have your propers. Back then bodybuilding was one of the top sports. Everybody tuned in to see who won the Olympia & Arnolds. The 1st thing you did was run to the supermarket and look at the magazines for pictures. It's totally different now, in AMERICA. In other countries it's still huge, but here assess to sooo many PEDs has made the bodybuilding look so easy to get.
