2013 honda fit traveler here; I'm floored someone else is doing it at all in such a small car, let alone that you had the exact info I was looking for for attaching solar panels

Lol, Just keep it at 75mph and you should be fine. Installation Round 2 also failed. I wrapped the panel on Using eternabond and the same thing almost happened. The panel became loose in the front but didn't completely come off. I think the adhesive material softened up in the 85 degree weather. 3rd times a charm!

Love your vids man! Glad you got your panel back at least. I'm a new fit owner, I know you have a catch can installed but was just wondering if you think it's worth it or not, was going to grab that evil energy one you have. Anyways, nice work as always!.

Yes, the Oil Catch Can is going to be worth it in the long run. It's only $20-$25, making it pretty affordable for everyone. It will help keep your maintenance costs down and your MPGs up. How many miles or kilometres are on your Fit?

Yikes and Yaaay ! ..... bad and good all at the same time. Glad you could recover the panel and that it wasn't under the wheels of a semi trailer when it came off. Super bad that the manufacturer can't be bothered to respond to emails though.

For real! My phone call/email was just a general inquiry. I never have any issues with their products and would love to recommend them but... They also had a 4 STAR review of mine pulled from Amazon and Amazon threatening to revoke my affiliate account because that review went against their rules and guidelines. (I purchased 3 solar panels and one of them did not have the mounting holes drilled into the panel. I uploaded a picture review stating I love this companies products but 1 of 3 panels I just received did not have mounting holes drilled into it. 4 Stars)

@@HondaFit4Adventure What! wow. I didn't realise that Amazon played such a dirty game. What's the point of a review system if it isn't honest. Like when there were just bot reviews and they allowed it. Disappointing.

I put clear vinyl down on the roof and then resecured the panel down using ETERNABOND roof repair tape. Also used around RV AC units. I'm afraid that didn't work either. The panel didn't fly off this time but it did become loose enough and started to flap around while driving. I think the adhesive from the eternabond softened in the hot weather causing the panel to loosen up while driving. Im going to use Industrial magnets, Gorilla Glue & Nascar tape next LOL. Hopefully it come out nice.

So the panel was working well even in hot weather with no ventilation under the wrap?

Correct. The panel is completely sealed off around the edges but also not in direct contact with the car. The small pocket of air could be working or the heat could just be escaping through the antenna hole where the cabling comes into the car. It's just covered by a thin layer of vinyl and located under the panel. To be fair, summer did just start. I wouldn't be able to give a decent review on it until after I owned it for a year.
