You mention working smarter not harder. You look like your working harder, and seem to be enjoying it. I like the ease of my traditional hose with a reel, and don't mind replacing it every few years. The last thing I want to do is spend a few more minutes in the garden. I'd rather be fishing, but I'm glad you've found a hose you enjoy. Controversial indeed!

Flexzilla has been awesome all summer 👍 have not made it to winter yet, but you make an excellent point about why they would last longer in freezing temps. Seriously can’t say enough good things about this hose

Mine leaks at the connection point. I’ve tried new O rings and it still leaks. It also slides off the metal end when water is on. Im wondering if the threads on my spicket don’t jive with the threads on the hose. Im about to ready to try a new hose. It was like this right out of the box

i was on the fence... but this video just convinced me to buy one. I bought a flexi hose a few weeks ago. But after just 3 uses, it is badly frayed. But i did like the no kink aspect. So hopefully this one will indeed have the industrial strength to last a few years without hassle ... especially the kinks that forever stay in previous generic hoses. Oh and yah.. no bursting. Yardworks was the first one to do that some weeks ago and led to this new quest to find a quality hose. This video has given me the confidence to go ahead ...as i was starting to read quite a few of those bad reviews you mentioned :)

I use as Flexilla on a hose reel, and have done so for perhaps 5 years, without any issue. It's absolutely the best hose I've ever owned. I roll/unroll from the reel with no water turned on.

I bought the hose, but I got the version with the swivel grips. The grips are a nice enhancement, but would have been fine without them. I just like gadgets. I watched some videos that demonstrated coiling a hose with an over/under method. This prevents tangles and kinks. I tried it on my old Zero G hose that was a kink monster and it totally cured it from kinking! I was amazed. So I use it on Flexzilla, too. I can throw it down on the ground while still coiled, just what you said NOT to do, and it still doesn't kink. Anyway, great hose.

The magic of Flexzilla hoses is that they don't remember the kink. I've had mine for three years now and it's as good as the day I bought it. No other real hose does that. Even contractor grade hoses.

I own a Water Right 100ft hose. My family has had a greenhouse business for 30+ years, and after buying a Water Right hose it is by far THE BEST HOSE on the market by a long shot. We've owned TONS of Gilmour and Apex branded hoses for years, and they would only make it a year or less due to extreme Greenhouse level strain. The Water Right hose has both the lightweight portability and high durability not many other hoses have. Simply THE BEST!!!

My only gripe with my Flexzilla hose is the anodized aluminum ends. One drag against concrete and the coating gets scuffed. Then the end corrodes to whatever its connected to, if it's connected for a long time. I've had to use wrenches to break the corrosion. I now use anti-seize on the end to prevent the corrosion. Also, I've dropped the hose end on the driveway and the threads dented enough to prevent easy attachment, and had to file the threads to get them back to shape. Brass or stainless hose ends would be so much better.

I absolutely loved this hose when I first got it. So much so I purchased 4 of them for myself and got one for my son as well. I could semi-easily drag the 200 feet of hose to the back of my property to water new trees we planted. However, instead of continually pulling the hose back and forth, one week I ended up just leaving it lay across the yard. That is when it turned black, molded! I got a large tub and bleached it. A lot of it came off but could not get it clean. Soon there after it was black again. The one I purchased for my son still looked fine although after he had it for about 3 years he pulled the end off when attempting to remove a hose nozzle. Moral to the story, good hose if you keep it out of the sun when not in use; don't manhandle attachments.

First, thank you for your service! I'm subscribing for that reason alone. The Flexzilla says it's drinking water safe, but I have been unable to determine what the "hybrid polymer" is that they say it's make of. I found a 2016 study on common garden hoses and the bottom line is that it has to be made of polyurethane for the lowest lead content (to make it "drinking water safe.") That's why I'm so curious to know what it's made of.

Hey, Marine. I have three Flexzilla hoses. Love them, lighter than most, they are expensive, but strong, I store mine in an outside she shed, Minnesota winters are tough. I keep them in a automatic hose reel. lifetime limited warranty, the one I had replaced was three years old, the heat, I assume, caused the end to pop off, I emailed the company, they had me take a couple pictures, week later the new 100’ hose is in the mail. Just like that. Good video thanks for posting.

Love my flexilla. Have had for 2 years and have only two problems. First, I ran over the end and crimped the metal. Lol More seriously it is the ONLY hose of the four that I have that grew algae/ mildew over the fall/winter. My other hoses I just hosed down due to dirt. The Flexilla I had to put in bucket with bleach an salt.

OK, I admit I'm lazy... and getting more lazy every year past SS age. I really DO like just pulling a hose off a turning reel to use it and when done, grabbing the reel handle and just winding it back up without experiencing any kinks or problems. I also like a thermostat on my HVAC system, a starter motor on my truck and shingles instead of a tent. Call me crazy, call me lazy; just don't call me late for dinner. I think most of us just want an easy pull out, no kink, no leak easy wind up hose. I'm glad you are liking your Flexzilla, but I'm looking for a trouble free hose -and a few bucks more is a small price to pay if one is out there.

I work in a nursery/greenhouse and flexzillas are the industry standard. When you buy them new unwind them from your arms and let them lay straight to open up and stretch out. All hoses kink from time to time so that criticism is silly. Store them as stretched out as you can. Two or three curls back onto itself and let it lay. Rolling them is not how pros store hoses and will cause knots and more kinking. Find an edge of your yard that it can lay against and store it that way. The weather won't degrade it at all.

Yeah that's what gave me pause too....there were several pictures of people who had excessive amounts of black mold. The type that infiltrates the exterior and can't be wiped off. I'll tell you what though, that hose looks very flexible, the no memory thing is tempting! I try to take very good care of my hoses and I don't use a reel either. My driveway hose is old as hell and it's kinky and needs replacing. So this is a 11/2 y/o hose and looks like that? I wonder what the people on Amazon are doing wrong? You should seriously look at the reviews on Amazon, because several people are reporting the same issue. Anyway, thanks for the video. It's good to hear a review after some time has passed, to see how it functions on down the line.

It's not that "flexzilla" is a bad hose! It's just that there are better hoses out there. That's all! Just get a 5/8 diameter hose that is heavy duty. In other words ,don't buy a thin walled ,thin hose and expect it to last or not kink. Get yourself a nice 5/8 thick walled hose and you will be fine 🙂. I irony is that "good" hoses don't usually cost that much more than cheap quality hoses do. Oh and stay away from 1/2 inch hoses if you like decent water pressure and volume out the end of your hose. 5/8 is the sweet spot for residential water pressure. 1/2 is too small and 3/4 is too big and you will actually lose pressure even though you gain volume. Anyways this is just my two cents from someone who has had the same hose for over ten years and mine doesn't kink or give me problems at all.

10 min. to discuss a garden hose. You must be bored out of your mind. You failed to perform your due diligence prior to your review. I own 4 flexzilla hoses, (3 - claimed 5/8" dia. and 1-claimed 3/4" dia.); unlike yours, mine actually get exposed to sun light (S. Texas sun), and YES, they absolutely will fade. Unlike yours which is kept in the shade and obviously rarely used, except for worthless 10 min. infomercials. None of mine are clean, bright and shinny, mine are actually used, regularly. In case you missed the first sentence, my gripe with flexzilla hoses is that the advertised diameter is NOT what they claim, and which you failed to even consider, let alone measure. Flow rate is everything when you have a big yard.
