“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.” “Aladdin” stars Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie; Mena Massoud as the charming scoundrel Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine, the beautiful, self-determined princess; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, the powerful sorcerer; Navid Negahban as the Sultan concerned with his daughter’s future; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Princess Jasmine’s free-spirited best friend and confidante; Billy Magnussen as the handsome and arrogant suitor Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim, Jafar’s right-hand man and captain of the palace guards. The film is produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich with Marc Platt and Kevin De La Noy serving as executive producers. Alan Menken provides the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and lyricists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and two new songs written by Menken and songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.The film, which was shot on practical stages in London and on location amidst the stunning desert vistas of Jordan, has a talented creative team helping to bring Agrabah to life, including: director of photography Alan Stewart, production designer Gemma Jackson and costume designer Michael Wilkinson.

Man y'all were hating on them when they were first cast and now they're the perfect people for the role (ESPECIALLY will smith as the genie). Lesson of the day: don't hate too quickly and wait for the final result before you judge.

@Nostalogic98 they meant it to be family-friendly. Which is why Jasmine no longer has an exposed midriff. But for God's sake, Aladdin is a GUY! there's nothing wrong with kids seeing a shirtless guy! After all, where I'm from, it's quite commonplace for guys to walk around shirtless in the summer. And it makes even more sense for Aladdin to be bare-chested in the Arabian sun! Who in their right minds would cover themselves up from head to toe in that scorching heat? Much more sensible for Aladdin to have remained shirtless.

@Nostalogic98 hey what I said earlier isn't my point of view at all...I was just quoting what the costume designer for "Aladdin" had said earlier yesterday (you can Google it if you wish: "Why is Aladdin wearing a shirt in the 2019 movie?") I honestly see nothing wrong or "indecent" about women exposing their midriffs or men roaming around completely shirtless. Like you said, it's quite common in beaches or pool parties! I an a guy too, and it's quite common for me (and my friends) to hang around shirtless. Heck, I never even bother putting on a shirt in the summer!

@@MuhammadAhmed-qh7ut well you're obviously right of course. However I was referring to the fact that this live-action Aladdin is a remake of the classic 1992 animated movie. Since they've stuck so closely to the original material, they could have easily made Aladdin shirtless, as that "shirtless-ness" was such an integral part of his character in all the three films as well as the animated series later. However I don't have any problem with Mena's portrayal of the character - he's a brilliant actor and has a lovely singing voice - plus a hot muscular body (check out his Instagram page) that would have gone down really well for Aladdin (had they gone down that route)!

Probably because the majority of box office movies are made in America with the American accent which causes Brits (and the whole world) to hear the accent so often, hence enabling people to imitate it easier

I just watched this movie at the afternoon of 22 may, and believe me this movie is awesome and i will never can forget this fantastic movie in the rest of my life. Btw, in my country (indonesia) they started play this movie on 22 may and i watched this at the first day cause i just can't wait

@@RS-ti7bz Yeah, no, they are not just selling the romance with all that. She is really into him. You can see sometimes see Mena back up a little, but when she goes there, so does he. It's pretty obvious that things haven't been great between Naomi and her husband for quite some time.

Aladdin was one of my favorite characters because he was the only hero that didn't have to fight someone in order to win plus it didn't have the damsel in distress be the big hook for character romance it was used as a set up.

I just got out of the theaters (about an hr ago....I went to Wal-Mart and Waffle House after lol) and I love seeing the chemistry between everyone in these interviews and how it translates on the big screen. Will just brings the positive energy and Naomi was THE best performance of the film. Will's version of Genie was great! I didn't think about Robin Williams' version because Will was able to do his own thing which was great for what it was!
