Its like someone bottled nostalgia, in one scene. This is one of those movies that you saw as a child, it was on sunday afternoons every year after. And if you see its on before you're leaving the house to do a weekly shop, then you're telling your wife shops can wait.

This soundtrack has to be Silvestri's best work, better than Back To The Future in my opinion. The whole score to this film was done on a synclavier machine....and it all sounds amazing!

If a 10 year old you could climb into a small robot on wheels to sneak out of a guarded room where you're being kept for an indeterminate amount of time to go around the NASA site and get chased by a massive truck thing and almost get caught by a dog just to get a chrome space ship so you can go back in time, sounds pretty epic to me lol

Not to mention how the ship had to plot out the likely interactions among all the people present. It had to know that specific dog and handler personalities would be on duty so the handler would excuse the dog's action as just wanting breakfast. It had to know which guard personalities were likely to just let the robot in vs inspecting the interior. And it had to do it when David was desperate enough to listen to a strange voice

I just realise David might not be controlling the robot (I always used to think he was controlling the robot telepathically or something) The robot could possibly be programmed to deliver whatever to that specific location (I know this, because the security guard opened the door for the robot)
