Flight Recorder Add-on - Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (Replay functions for free!)

Flight Recorder is a great, free add-on that allows you to record your flight and get a replay playback in the sim. It does this by recording all of your movements and then playing them back as if autopilot is flying your plane exactly how you did it.
This is a great add on in the absence of any real in-built replay function.

Thanks for this FT! I will download it and try it over the weekend. A nice bit of your Wellesbourne scenery there I see, which is superb. I have been inside that Vulcan. Thanks for redoing all of the Birmingham scenery after the recent sim update. I find it better with your pack and photogrammetry off.

Glad you're enjoying the scenery, the Wellesbourne airfield is a great place to fly out of, feels authentic with my scenery :)

@@FlyingTheston Actuslly it's brilliant. It's possible to change both the time of day and the weather during replay, so you can make a nice easy VFR approach in broad daylight, then pretend that you actually made a night IFR approach in appalling weather. If only it was as easy in real life!

@@152driver1 Yeah the tool is so good, there's a paid version out there too, but this does everything for free and before Asobo got their replay version working! They guy who made the tool makes some great stuff.

How do you screen record? People are saying to use windows + G. However when I record, it also records the flight recorder replay dialogue box in my video which I don’t want… I just want the video of the plane and background not any dialogue boxes…appreciate the help thx

but useless for sailplanes if you need the engine running to use. Sailplanes for MSFS have (sometimes) hidden engines but mostly that's also only to get around the MSFS SDK limitations. I'll have to experiment to see if it can be made to work with the increasing number of ported over and native sailplanes for MSFS.

No you don't need running engine to replay with the tool. The tool simply doesn't turn on the engine for you so I make that recommendation. If you replay with engine of it will still replay but it can look weird for aircraft that needs a running engine.

@@DEeMONsworld Yeah it is actually just a tiny thing since you might ended up with aircraft flying without engine running and that looks weird. Not a deal breaker but my explanation in flightsim.to is probably too long and makes it feel like a deal breaker :D.
