Flight Training - Matty flip

Looking at the Matty flip and how to set up for success.
The scene I'm using for this demo can be found in download tracks inside the simulator, search in Empty Scene Day, player name Ash. The track is called Matty.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos!!! I am a noob and have spent the winter learning about the hardware and flying indoor LOS little tiny quads. Just finished my first build and need to practice, ALOT!! Your work is of GREAT value to me, you should be proud of what you have done, I have look at ALOT of flight tutorials, yours are the best.

Rather than have a high camera angle you can set up your OSD with an artificial horizon and sidebars to reference.

loving these videos just now... you could also do a power loop and just play the video backwards :))))) I've had 4 flights now on my wizard and only crashed the once :) lol that was due to horizon mode... I'm well and truly hooked :)

Thanks Ash, the track looks great and I'm a little late getting to the table to learn this move but now I'm here but the track is not. It appears to have been greyed out in the latest version of VelociDrone. I can find the track but the download button stays grey. Looks like four of your tracks from 2017 are the same. Everything newer appears to be available for download, i.e., the download button does not stay greyed out when the cursor passes over it. Anything I can do to fix this?

if it's grey it means it's already in your database - ie. it won't let you download it again because it knows you already have it.

@@Velocidrone Thanks, that makes sense but...I don't have in it my database either. I've searched for it over and over and it's not there. Something must be out of sync. No worries, there are plenty of other trees in other scenes that I could use. Maybe this is a good time for me to learn how to create my own? :)

@@JensModer click track editor button from the main menu and check to see if the tracks show as custom tracks in the track editor track list

@@Velocidrone No, it's not there either, the editor is completely empty. Searching for it there in the download track section of the editor does again show it greyed out. It must think it's on my drive. Should i look for it by filename?

@@JensModer the code in this area is very specific, your database is searched for track Ids that are in your database and these are added to a list. When you go to download a track it creates a list of tracks you can download, any id's that are in the previously created list of track ids are greyed out. So these tracks id's are in your database - whether you believe so or not. I cannot check your database without you sending it to us, what I can tell you is that if it is greyed then it's online id is in your database already.

Cannot find the track called Matty: Single player -> All Tracks, Any Class, Filter Tracks: "Matty" - no results :( Was the trach removed from velocidrone?

Never mind. Had to download it from the Track Editor beforehand.

Great Video on how to do this. Backwards flight has me stumped. But who flies around with a 60+ camera angle unless you're just out to do this trick? In Real Life you cant change the camera angle on the fly. I do like a 50 degree or more angle when I am flying in both sim or real life unless I'm trying to puss out learning new areas.

you use a high angle to make it easy to begin with, then you can lower the angle once you have the principle of how it works understood and the basic stick movements learnt. Nobody is prescribing that you should be flying around with a 60 degree angle all the time.
