144 views so far and nobody has made a comment to thank you for the effort /time required to make/edit and produce a video that we watched. Well flight brothers, thank you, I fly this craft a lot and from your video found a few things out that I did not know, please continue to make more on the DC3, like how to configure the maps to the tablet, etc.. Thank you. Porco Rosso.

This is the clearest and most direct overview of a plane I've yet found. Thanks. I'm fairly new to flight sim and the cockpit was a little daunting at first, but you got me up in the air in 25 minutes and I will definitely be spending more time with this machine. Cheers.

@@FlightBrothersFT No problem. I sub'd and plan on watching some more today. If you're open to suggestions, the Carenado PA-31T Cheyenne II is a lovely little plane that I haven't been able to find a ton of info on. Might be worth a vid? Just a thought! Look forward to watching more.

That’s a pretty good idea. Do you own the Cheyenne? If so, how is it? As you can imagine, we want “all the planes”, but....let’s say....budgetary constraints...tend to keep that from happening. We keep a substantial list of future video projects, so we never run out of ideas, but prioritizing them presents it’s own challenges.

Thanks for the video, I've been trying to figure out how to get the controls in the right position in order to start the engines and I finally got them both running after watching your video. Good video. The reason for the flaps up takeoff is so the plane will not get airborne well below the minimum single engine control speed. You want to get through this speed as soon as possible. If you lose an engine on takeoff below this speed, you're pretty much dead.

Always liked the look of those old piston driven airliners. Although jets are better, they just don't have the character of the old planes. The DC-3 almost seems alive, but modern jets just feel more like robots. @@FlightBrothersFT Thanks for that and the great video! I just wanted to see if I was missing something. Looking at the nav charts it seems setting the NAV radio to KTUS VOR and setting the CDI to 308 deg from KTUS would work for this flight?
@FlightBrothersFT
@FlightBrothersFT 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not looking at the charts now to check you, but basically any VOR you are receiving can allow you to navigate as you can find the bearing to that station. The precision aspect of radio nav only really comes in if you're trying to stay on specific airways, fly a procedure, or fly an IFR plan. But if you are basically just cruising around you can just use any radio as a pointer to help you navigate to or from it.

Okay. Let's keep trying things until we find the problem. What happens if you use the drop down menu to command the engines to start? If that fails, check fuel supply. If that works, shut them back down manually (pull the mixture to cutoff) and then try to restart them yourself. Let us know if you have any luck, and if not try to be very specific about what you tried. Don't give up, it's probably something very small in the procedure, or perhaps a corrupted aircraft file at worst.

Thanks. Nostalgia time for me. Though a lot of stuff in this is not very realistic, and you, or the sim, skipped other important things. Why use TO flaps on 29L at KTUS? Completely unnecessary. Why go to full power against the brakes with 8400 (if memory serves) feet of asphalt in front of you, of which you'll need about 1/8th? Why use full power at all? (You're not paying for the engines--I get it.) You don't include the ballet of raising the gear, which is way more complicated, and more fun, than flicking a switch. Same with lowering it. Any DC-3 simulator w/o a bunch of hydraulic activity is woefully incomplete. A discussion of engines would be fun too--hi and low blowers, when to use; dash 92s vs 94s or even CW 1820s. I think TWA used 1820s on its first 3s, and maybe AA did too. If they're going to stick a GPS in this, why not go all the way and put in direction finding equipment and radio ranges? Then people could really pretend it was 1937.
